Try to invest in a solid/thick, old school wooden ruler too. They're awesome but hard to find. You may need to wrap a thin silicone scar sheet at the bottom of it, so that it won't break your skin when you calculate your BPEL. That's what I do.
As for moist heat, I apply a moist heating pad made by ThermoTech. They have electric versions where you're able to preset wearing time and even tempature depending on comfort. It is my opinion that it does a great job loosening up my ligs noticeably, without the need of a topical agent. Because we have an internal thermostat it even feels to me that my ligs remain in the same loosened state so long as I continue on with the heating pad all session long. This comes in handy as you tighten those thumb screws and increase tension. I'd never extend without it. It's totally been a factor for my gains. Go pick one up and let me know. And hopefully soon those 4 months become 12. Then carry on and do the same all next year as well. Good luck.

If you remain consistent, this increase will eventually become your pre-extending BPEL. See how that works? This trend is progressive all throughout your extending journey. I've seen this happen from .2" in gains to almost 2.5" in gains. I just wish extending didn't wear your dick out so much. I'm always amazed by the EQ that the Snake Man has following his heavy hanging routines, after he completes his edging. I wish I was able to squeeze some quality edging sessions in immediately after my 5 consecutive hours of extending. I bet that's what I'm missing. I'm also going to start doing kegels while in class. Quality kegels. Without counting, just concentrating on the quality of each rep, while breathing and relaxing. This should improve things as well. Hope everyone is working hard and making gains!
Side note... While I love the Snake Hanger, using this new industrial quality rubber on your LG does give you an hour of uninterrupted hanging with 25 pounds. That's insane! Kingsnake, it would be interesting to see if an approach like that would have any benefit compared the unstrap/restrap interval technique used with the Snake Hanger.
Man, the strength in the ligaments of hangers blows my mind. The tolerance developed is something to marvel at. We're talking about a capacity to hang serious weight from your dick only to make it stronger by doing so. I just wish this gradual increase in strength didn't make it more harder for you guys to make gains. You guys deserve a medal in my honest fucking opinion lol.
Also, alienware... I took a look at that guy from LPSG, and all I can say is... That's fucking amazing! Dude seems real humble too. Most people from that site are assholes. Once I get to 10" BPEL I hope to pick up some hot girls from that site who love large dicks. Since I been a member I've tried to encourage many people there with the practice of PE and sadly they think it's a fable. They even had the nerve to call DLD a hoax. Some people never surprise me... Rather than investigating and attempting to practice something with a committed effort, they immediately write it off as a myth. Notice I didn't try to convince the non-believers. Let it be they're loss... Or rather "lack of gains." lol

I've seen that guy before on the measure up tumblr account. If not photo-shopped, there's no denying that this man is at minimum 9.6" BPEL, or most likely more. A truly huge cock, in regards to length alone. Normally you'd note that the ruler is along the side of his shaft. But even with that considered there's no denying this man his glory. I envision my NBPEL to be like this once I hit an undeniable 10" BPEL. I oddly have a .5" fat pad, even with the extremely fit physique that I have. It's strange.
You're like me alienware, I constantly scout LPSG for visual references for motivation. I use them to motivate me to work harder extending wise.
