It is a distortion of perception. Of course there will be times where there is going to be some guys with a bigger size than others but largely, most men (99%) fall between 5" and 6" in length.

A woman, on average, has a hand breadth of between 2.5 -3". So an average woman grabbing a six inch penis would leave the head and a little shaft showing.

Surely not. 2.5 x 2 = 5. A head and a bit of shaft is more than 1 inch. My head is 1.5 inches long. If your shaft was over 5 inches, and your head was less than an inch, it would look very small. Like a baby's arm holding a... grape.
