I don't think low tension is better, I think varying tension is the best. I don't let my penis get used to the same tension.
My method is kinda unorthodox:
I start extending at max. tension that I can cope with. I wear this setup all sessions till the 3rd tension (500g on [words=https://shop.mattersofsize.com/products/sizegenetics-penis-extender]SG[/words], I think) mark is visible. This is the sign for me do add bars! So, I add 0.5" bars to the [words=https://shop.mattersofsize.com/products/sizegenetics-penis-extender]extender[/words] and repeat the process described earlier.
I don't bother keep the same tension by turning the screws. I'm just too lazy for that, plus it increase the chance of unequal tension distribution.

When I stretch at higher tension my EQ is not as good.
