Check out the dildo reviews on edenfantasys.com. There are tons of thorough reviews by women on that site. Actually, I find reading them to be quite a turn-on, but whatever.
I've read tons of them. What you often see are quotes like this...
For a dildo with 5.75" girth or more:
"A bit too girthy for every day use"
"not for beginners"
"Great for size queens"
For a dildo with 5.25" - 5.5" girth:
"Perfect thickness"
"Ideal"
etc.
For a dildo with 7-8" length:
"A bit longer than I'd like"
"A little too big for hard thrusting"
For a dildo with 5.5-6.5" insertable length:
"Ideal length"
"Perfect"
Now, to be fair, most dildos are made of a material that is very unforgiving. A human penis (especially the head) has much more give and less friction than a rubber dildo, meaning that impact and friction against the cervix will be less comfortable, and that the stretch it puts on the vaginal entrance is more, even with lubrication. I can confirm this, because I bought a rubber dildo for my girlfriend that was my exact girth, and she felt like it was a little too thick. After experimentation, I realized that, to adequately compare the size of a dildo to a penis, you have to actually pull the measuring tape tight. This compresses the penis (and dildo) about as far as a vagina would. This reveals that your penis, when compressed by a vagina, has at least 0.25" less girth than you would normally measure... unless we're talking a crazy viagra erection of steel. Which, by the way, is why Viagra and kegels do in fact make you bigger. Harder erections = bigger erections.
Anyway, I digress. The only dildo that comes close to human penis deformation under stress (from all our delightful experimentation!) is the Vixen Vixskin line. If you read the reviews on this thing, you'll see that women absolutely fucking love them. I mean, like hands down, they think it's the best dildo ever.
Now, VixSkin, subjected to my test, actually gives slightly more than an erect human penis would. But, the girth that women LOVE in this line? 5.5"-5.75", about 0.25" more than the size typically favored.
Unfortunately, the VixSkin line has a big hole in it, lengthwise... making it hard to say at what length it becomes uncomfortably long for the average woman. It goes from 6.25" insertable to 8.75" insertable, with nothing in between. The 6" length gets rave reviews, and the 8.75" is generally considered too long, despite its considerable give. The 2" girth is also considered a bit much, despite the give.
However, one trend I've noticed is that there are a whole category of women who think anything less than 2"+ girth is too small... probably this group is mostly made up of women who have gone through natural childbirth, although I'm sure there are also some size queens in that group.
But, nonetheless, the majority seem to want something inside them that is only SLIGHTLY above average. The problem with this is that BPenis EnlargementL is not a consistent measure of "insertable" length. NBPenis EnlargementL is a better measure of insertable length, but it varies wildly from position to position. If you're the ideal length for missionary, you're going to be too long to slam it home in doggie or knees up.
In other words, while there may be an ideal girth, there is no ideal length. It totally depends on the position. And it also depends on entirely on the woman, and her arousal level.
Just to be safe though, I'm still aiming for 8" NPBEL by 6" MSEG.
Because "ideal" for me means her saying things like "god, you're big". This ain't Goldilocks and the three bears!
