WHat I personally do is intermitten fasting, I fast daily for 16hrs and eat in the rest. This can be mainteined year-round and works nicely with my schedule.
Not exactly. My fast's still include very basic food intake, just enough to keep my metabolism going. Caloric intake is maybe 500 calories. The fast would last about 30 days and in this time I would purify my body and, obviously, loose weight. I did this fast before the Channel 4 interview and in that interview you can see just how in shape I was.
The months of fasting were a different thing and something I have stopped. I am Roman Catholic and at Lent we fast. I hate fasting and I would always be miserable over the entire Lent season. I decided that I would just fast all year round and I would not hate it so much. I did this for two years, taking one meal daily and spent most of the time in prayer. This ended up being very unhealthy and I started to experience muscle atrophy. So I stopped fasting in that way. Today I will follow the fasting rules as the church has them laid out.
Hope that clears it up
