With hanging you need to have a lot of time and privacy but if you have these things hangings is a very powerful way to gain length. Things to understand, wrapping is vital, very important, getting a good grip without pinching is all about wrapping skills. Being able to handle heavy weight also comes down to the wrapping technique. Once mastered you will want to do 20 minute sets. I would say 4 hours per day would be a very good length routine.
