There's an artery in my frenulum that's keeping me from tying. Should I tie the frenulum along with the artery? Please help.

Here's a report of my own tying performed back in December. I had already torn and snipped my frenulum a little many years ago so it wasn't too restrictive to begin with.

I took an ordinary sewing needle and a piece of 0.5mm stretch magic.
So i cleaned the thread and the needle thoroughly (sharpened it too), used a clothes peg and a lamp to clamp my frenulum in a convenient position and provide a back light so i could see through the construction of the semi-transparent skin and find the ideal placement for the stitch. I aimed for a very shallow position (best to tie off a little at a time) and also tried to place the stitch as close to the glans as possible as this would be the part that was providing the most anchorage between glans and foreskin. I stuck the needle in with a slight twisting motion to help pierce the frenulum. It took a lot of force to get the needle through (skin is strong!) and it hurt quite a bit when i got it through, not more than an unpleasant sting though. I pulled the filament through then tightened a few very tight knots on top of one another. There was a painful throb each time my pulse tried to force blood through this newly constricted capillary. This was the worst pain of the whole experience but still it was not unbearable, maybe a 6/10 (I've had bowel movements that have hurt worse).
I treated the area before hand with a little germolene. This is an antiseptic with a little anaesthetic in it. It didn't seem to numb me much, maybe it made a little difference. I applied this consistently over the next week to keep the area sterile. In hindsight this may not have been a sensible idea. Apparently antiseptics can hinder the growth of new skin which is not really what you want when you are severing skin. Just keeping clean is probably enough to avoid an infection once the stitch is in.

I soaked the area twice a day for about 15 mins in a cup of warm water.

Eventually the stitch cut through after 10 or 11 days. When i placed the stitch I accidentally placed it a little deeper than I really wanted to (it's hard to get it exactly where you want) so I suspect it took longer because my stitch was a little deeper than most and so there was more skin that needed to be cut through.

All in all it was a positive experience. I have a little more freedom of movement in my foreskin, it doesn't roll over the glans so much and I personally think the frenulum free cock looks a bit better than one with an intact frenulum. IMO the frenulum is one of the most unnecessary, unattractive, inconvenient, badly designed parts of our anatomy and anyone who wants to do away with theirs probably won't be disappointed with the results.

Below is a before and after comparison.

In both pics I am pulling my shaft skin down to illustrate the degree to which the frenulum is distorting the shape of the head. The head is tilted forward much more before and hardly at all after. It also seems as if there is a large area of newly exposed tissue now that the webbing is out of the way. There's a tight, white strip of frenulum that is still restricting my foreskin very slightly. I might be tempted to do one more tie to rid myself of it but now I'm thinking I might just get the whole frenulum surgically removed anyway. I'm getting circumcised in 2 weeks time (mainly out of personal, aesthetic preference) and will probably ask my surgeon to remove the frenulum (I just think it looks better without). My frenulum is a fairly insensitive, long strip of scar tissue by this point, no more sensitive than the surrounding shaft skin, so I don't think I'll be missing out on any sensation.

Anyway, thanks for all the helpful information guys. I've enjoyed having my liberated frenulum these past several months, even if it has only been a temporary change.

Surgical perfection Brother! It looks healthy and I can see that it has released some length. This process always scares me so it is good to see men who have been successful with a healthy tie. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hey, I just found this thread last night whilst googling some tips on what to do with my own frenulum. There's some really useful information in here. I'm not quite sure how I feel about sticking a needle through part of my penis, but it's starting to look better than any of the alternatives, especially after seeing a couple of people's end results.

Could I be added to the Flickr group too please? My username and e-mail are Rarefied21 / rarefied21@yahoo.com

Thanks.

I just did my tying... Now I have some dull pain. Not really much but pretty constant... maybe a 4/10 or so.
Anybody has experienced this? Did I tie it too much or too little or too deep?

Thanks!

can somebody add me to the flickr group?

Thanks!

Took me a few days, but I just finished reading this thread all the way through. It's given me hope and the courage to try this procedure. My hockey team has the 1st round of playoffs tonight, and if we lose (which I think we will unfortunately) I'm going to make my first tie after a few beers to loosen me up. If we win, I'll wait until our last game so I have more than a week for the tie to break through and heal just in case. I really want to thank all the guys here who've shared their experiences, it's made a huge impact. Cheers!

Oh, Jan & Phallus, I've PM'd you both. Would one of you add me to the Flickr group? I'll be taking pictures of the whole process; before, during, and after, and I'd like to add them to the group so that other guys can benefit from my experience as well.

Well, I did it! I took the plunge. Put my first tie in last night after my hockey game. We won, so we play again next wednesday, but I went ahead and did it anyway. Don't want to keep the gf waiting too long y'know, haha. Tactical's list on page 2 was incredibly helpful for making sure I didn't forget any supplies before I started. I used a 5% lidocaine cream called Dr. Numb, which I used in the past for helping finish the huge tattoo on my ribs. Stuff works like a charm. I couldn't feel anything except pressure. I did get a small drop or two of blood, I might have poked a capillary or something, but after that everything went fine. After the numbing cream wore off there was a sore feeling, but not anything bad. I taped my foreskin back overnight to avoid irritation, and covered my glans with gauze and the triple-antibiotic ointment, then wore briefs (a weird feeling as I'm a boxers kinda guy) to bed to prevent things moving around. Woke up this morning to a pretty solid case of morning wood, and didn't feel any discomfort! I'm even going to go work in a couple hours.

Bottom line, if anyone is debating this procedure, and the thing holding you back is the pain aspect or the "i'm gunna stick a needle through WHERE!?" aspect, dooooo it! If I can do it, anyone can. Seriously! I took pictures before and after, but not during. Didn't want to have to keep sterilizing and re-sterilizing my hands after touching the camera. I'll post those as soon as I get added to the Flickr group, and I'll try to remember to post updates on here frequently as well. Cheers!

Quick update after 1 day. No more soreness or sensitivity. So much so that I was even able to masturbate carefully with the tie in. The waiting is going to kill me, I'm sure of it haha. Hoping above all else that I'm one of the lucky ones that has the tie break through after only a few days and not a whole week or more. Onward to day 2!

Day 2 update: Can't even tell the tie is in anymore unless I hit it in just the right spot or tug on it. Speaking of tugging, it's a good thing I can't really feel it, because I masturbated again haha. It's almost like the thought of not being able to makes me hornier. Weird. Anyway, hoping the knot is still tight, but can't really tell as the knot is so small and it's hard to get a good look at it zoomed in. But I'm thinking it's fine because the skin kinda bunches up around it and rolls over it, so I'm thinking it's still good. Let's go day 3!

Ok, so it's been a full week, and the tie still hasn't cut all the way through. I thought the tie was loose a few nights ago, so I snipped it off. As I was doing that, I think I realized it wasn't loose and that I was just impatient. It was a HUGE bitch to get the needle through again, and I think I wound up just making a new hole. Probably should have just let the stretch magic work its, well, magic. I'm really hoping this damn thing hurries up, I'm getting seriously anxious, and that's never a good thing haha. I'll probably hold off on updating again until it finally breaks through, whenever that happens -_-
