I will say one thing before anything else, even though I am 300 lbs I do not look like I am as my body is pretty dense. I certainly do look a bit fat, but not as much as you would expect for someone at my
weight.
So I have gone up and down in
weight about 2-3 times in my lifetime, and when I say gone up and down I mean at least 50 lbs up or down. The latest time went something like this. I am currently 26. When I was 22 I had developed that really hot body that women liked a lot that I mentioned. I did that by sticking to a body building schedule of 7 days on no days off. Each day I did at lest 16 sets and my routine was:
Monday- Chest
Tuesday- Legs
Wednesday- Triceps
Thursday- Back
Friday- Shoulders
Saturday- Biceps
Sunday- Abs
This routine worked pretty well for me in terms of making my body look good, but as you probably already know it wasn't so great if you are looking to make strength gains as it is a bit too much.
So when I was 23 I moved to NYC and by chance at the gym I went to I ran into guys that practice what they call calisthenics, but it is really more like a combination of body
weight exercises and gymnastics. You can find similar guys on youtube by checking for a guy named "hannibal" or "barstars" (not sure of the spelling). Shortly after that I dropped lifting
weights and started doing calisthenics, which took my workouts from about 1 hour and 15 minutes a day to 30-45 minutes a day.
After that I got in trouble with the law a bit, and that caused me to go into a bit of depression. I am a depression eater, and at that point I stopped my strict diet and got a bit sloppy with how much and the types of food I would eat, and that combined with my reduced workout bumped my
weight up to 240-250 lbs.
I stayed at that
weight for a while, maybe a year or two, and after getting into a bit of trouble again I was diagnosed as bipolar at the same time that another huge negative event took place in my life that led to more depression. Then I got on bipolar medication that caused me to sleep much more than I used to causing me to miss workouts and eventually stop exercising altogether. At the same time the depression led me to drop my diet entirely and I began overeating daily and also eating junk food at least a couple of times a week.
So at this point I haven't exercised more than a handful of times in over a year and a half and I was eating poorly for much of that time as well, and that made me jump from 240-250 up to 307 at my highest.
Sorry if the grammar or sentence structure in that explanation sucked, but I was typing really fast and haven't looked over it, but I hope you get the point. I have started exercising again and dieting and have come down from my high of 307 lbs about two weeks ago to 301 lbs tonight.
