I don't understand.. is that actually how you're meant to measure? Sitting down? Whenever I do this my BPEL is 8.5", but standing up it's 7.625".

All I'm concerned with is consistency. I measure the same way every single time, with no variation. Since my decade old pics are of me sitting down, I'm sort of locked into that method if I want to keep tracking gains.

But if I took part in some medical study of penis size, I'm sure they would measure me standing up. Of course, they would probably also measure my flaccid stretched length instead of erect, and my stretched length is even longer :)

DLd said before measure in what ever position your EQ is best. So it might be laying or sitting depending on the person

Cheers; I've seen so many conflicting opinions on the 'proper' way of measuring BPEL that it seems that literally everybody is doing it wrong.

I measure sitting down as it gives me more control over what I am doing. I measure a bit longer sitting than standing but others may be different. The 2 most important things about official measurements are good eq and measuring the same way every time. If you measure from the side you have nothing solid to anchor to. Yes, side measurements are much more impressive than top measurements but with a top measurement you can anchor against the pubic bone unlike other areas. This bone measurement will always be consistent.

I feel the exact opposite. There is less variation while seated, because it more difficult to do things like tilt the hips to change the measurement. Less variation for measurements is always better, as far as I'm concerned.
 
Everyone has a different body, different position of the pubic bone, hips, torso, etc. These all contribute to what give the best measurement. Men with a short torso may measure longer sitting than their counterparts that measure longer standing. There are too many variables to have a consistent method of standing, sitting, laying down, etc. So what matters most is pick one style and stick with it.

I asked for validation because of my insecurities and bdd. I've been so miserable that I need something to make me feel better, and a compliment would definetly do just that. I doubt you're showing off your pics for the same reasons.

See, this is the fundamental problem here.

I'm not "showing off" my pictures. I'm not asking for compliments, or for people to "guess my size" or (with rare exceptions) posting vanity shots. That's not the purpose of this forum. I'm creating a record of my progress, and I post the occasional non-measurement picture because people (other than you, apparently) seem to be inspired by seeing the progress.

It wouldn't really bother me if no one ever replied to this thread again. But it's only because of this thread that I have pictures going as far back as 2007.

Dudes an inspiration, don't get immature and blame your reactions and insults on legitimate disorders. If you're jealous you're jealous, I am too and that's okay. I'm just happy someone is making this kind of progress, makes me want to get back into it. Also narcissism would be posting on pornhub, which is fuckin great for the ego even if you're not that hung. Give it a shot, might help with that projection ;)
