But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.…"


DLD what is your interpretation of this scripture?

Greed? Maybe. That could be anything though. You could be greedy for wanting a bigger house or a house in general when there are people out there homeless/starving.

Sexual thoughts are a natural part of our makeup and there is nothing wrong with that. To be more clear, sexual thoughts that are specific to someone else's wife would be coveting and this would be considered a sin. It is important to know that the commandments speak greatly to property or ownership of another mans things whether they be his job, his house, his wife, etc.

If part of your religious beliefs include glorifying your gods creation, and the notion that you should empower the temple of your soul (your body), PE should be a part of your growth journey while you are here on this earth.

You believe in science still, that's your god. So you cant really interject with a clear centered perspective about that.

And IM not debating whether PE l and Christ can co exist I just threw the question in here because I think its a good thread with lots of talking points

Actually, unlike yourself, I have a somewhat open mind. So, yes I can freely chime in. I enjoy reading another's perspective rather than deliberately trying my best to shoot it down, because I really have nothing else to do. Remember that the Franciscan order is a sect of the Catholic church that fully recognizes science as a part of God's creation. They base much of their studies on science, math, physics and theology. This was the order I wanted to enter when I was considering becoming a priest. When we listen to the conservation of energy it has the same implications of God, can not be created, can not be destroyed, it only can change form. In my opinion this is a beautiful incorporation of fundamental studies of the universe and that of Theology.

In Kabbalah there is a latter that describes this in a very wonderful way. It is seen that when we are born we are with God, in his arms, completely in the good graces of paradise. As we grow we go down what is called the "latter of Life" the first rung is food and shelter, the next rung is money, the next rung is power and the last rung is Knowledge. At this point we realize that our knowledge is so far away from our God. We are at the bottom of the latter being separated from God by all of these rungs down the latter. How to get back in the good graces of our Lord is by going up that latter again. First give away the knowledge, next give away the power, next give away the money, next give away the food and shelter and now you are back with the Lord. Many see this as Jewish mysticism but I see it as a truth that relates so much to my life.
