SizeGenetics Attachment Modification Velcro Strap by J1L

Wow! $1.08 worth of Velcro and my sg is 75% better! That comfort strap is very uncomfortable. If you own a size genetics extended and you haven't tried this you are missing out.. better hold and much more comfortable than before. 5 stars for this. I did crazy docs version
 
Just finished this Velcro mod. Seems to work well & more secure!! My only question is it normal for my head to go numb wearing the SG or is it too tight? I also noticed this w/ the comfort strapped that came in the package. Thanx in advance
 
All I have to say for this mod is THANK YOU! If it wasn't for this mod I'd probably not use the SG very much. Thanks again for sharing!

It's normal. You have to just adjust the system to the point where it's not too tight but tight enough to keep a grip.

One thing I did which really helped with the grip - I bought a neoprene can sleeve at Wal Mart (or maybe Target). The kind you put a beer/soda can in to keep it insulated. I cut a piece out of that and pulled the fabric off both sides and I use that as the padding underneath the velcro strap. It's material is very grippy so I've found I don't have to tighten the strap nearly as much to keep the SG in place.
 
Was probably my fault-I sent an extensive description of it to Jes Mueller a couple months ago. I expect the newest model of Male Edge (still waiting) to include this instead of the stretchy bullshit straps.
 
Today I tried the advice that steady said about using a drink sleeve. Luckily I so happened to have a few extra in the kitchen cabinet. Then I cut out a small strip and tried it out. This is the most comfortable method I've used yet. That annoying pain was pretty much gone and I was able to wear the SG for an hour and could have went longer! I had the velcro strap on tight for about 45 min. until I had to loosen it a bit. After I loosened the strap, that's when it felt I could really go over and hour with this beer holder material. Thanks so much steady for the tip, I can now actually enjoy wearing the SG for the first time. Velcro mod with the neoprene material made the the SG 110% better for me. Thanks!

I've found the neoprene material really grips the skin so I can keep the strap a lot looser than I could with any other material. In it's original form, the neoprene had a fabric on both sides which I peeled off so there was just the black neoprene. It really grips and it's very comfortable since the strap isn't pulled down so tight.

I've worn if for 3 hours with very little discomfort by the end of the 3 hours. Usually the discomfort is cause by skin that's a bit folded under the neoprene that begins to get irritated, maybe a burning sensation. When I take if off for half an hour I'm good to start another session. I'm wearing it about 6 hours a day now shooting for 8 to 10 hrs a day.

wow, i gotta try the neoprene sleeve trick. been trying to last the hour with the sg but the pain is really awful..

They come in many different sizes. FIn some that closely match the width of the SizeGenetics head piece or a big smaller.
 
Alright.

And that moleskin stuff you just stick to the underside of the strap part? Can you get that stuff @ Walmart I'm assuming?
 
Hello I just modded my SG and the velcro strap is great!! I've had it on for about 45 minutes now. I think I may have an issue though. Im using the White Spongy thing (sorry i dont know what to call it) that came with the SG and then I just velcro around it! It's very comfortable and im not experiencing any pain...but I do feel some slippage....What can I do to fix this?
 
alex look at my last post a few above yours. I used a neoprene wrap that I used a can "cooler' to make. It's the slip on sleeve that they make to put a can or bottle in so it stays cooler in the summer. I got it at Wal Mart. Make sure it's the neoprene one and not one of those foam ones. Grip is awesome and I don't have to tighten down on the velcro strap nearly as much to keep a grip.

I just purchased this Velcro Strap piece the other day and I'm still waiting for it to be delivered. You think it will work as well as your modification? I sure hope so. I also got some silicon penis sleeves that I will try for cushioning the strap. When I get the Velcro strap, I will try your Beer Cooler idea out. :)
 
I never tried the foam kind but I know the neoprene grips like crazy. They usually have some kind of cloth material attached to it with the design they want on the unit. Just pull that off so you have only the black neoprene.

I've recently changed to the VLC tugger method with the SizeGenetics so I haven't been using the velcro strap lately.
