I would say 6" girth is very ideal for most women, but like anything else, you have variety.
Some will like it smaller, some larger, but on the whole I would say 6" is a pretty good fit.

six inches could be 'stretching' things just a tad...my guess would be closer to 5 3/4". Keep in mind that an increase of 1/4" in girth drastically affects the total volume occupying a vagina
I was gonna say the same thing, 6 inches and girth is in the top five percentile, most women will never see a penis thicker than 5 inches. So 5 1/2 to 5 3/4 seems like a good size to me. If you want monster girth go for six and beyond but you might be asking for trouble in the bedroom

Is this true? I know what the avarage is, but is 7" BPEL so uncommon by the population of men that doesn't do PE?

That's probably true. There are natural men (not have done any kind PE) that are big. But I prefer a woman with a low body count. But the "risk" still exists.
Majority of men prefer a woman with low body count including myself. The higher the body count, the more loose the hole between her legs is going to be.
There is one more thing about, if a woman have a high body count.
With a high body count, she loses the ability to bound emotionally to the man. Marrying a woman with a high body count will be a disaster.
