For the most part, I have stood behind DLD/MOS since I have been here. I highly supported the
MOS Power Assist and I still believe that it should be the "focus" product here at
MOS. It is a fine commercial type product with outstanding workmanship. Though I could make a reasonable copy myself, no way I could copy the smooth lines and craftmanship of this fine product.
All that being said, I think the
MOS LOOP/ROP is a bad move on the part of DLD/MOS.
I think there is a very bad rep that goes along with anyone attaching there name to a ROP here at
MOS. Some of the older guys here will easily remember all the shit that went on with Supra's origianl ROP. At that time, it was very easily aurgued that DLD had no part in what went on with Supra deleting post of anyone who had anything negative to say about his cash cow at the time. There was a
MOS wide feeling of a conspiracy that attached itself then(and now I believe) to the word ROP.
That is my problem with this new
MOS LOOP. It's very easy to see the ease and cost of making your own. It's very easy to find out how cheap the materials are. It's also very easy to see how little time and effort actually go into making each one. My problems is that I think there will always be a certain stigmatism that will always be associated with any ROP product.
I would like to add this as well, to price a ROP at the same price as a
Power Assist is just an insult. If a professional piece of equipment such as the
PA can be had for 49.95, there is no way I would spend that money on a ROP.
