Do they sell the Herc valves seperately? I would like to test this the difference :)

No, you would have to modify it using an old X-40. I knew some guys would do this...I just know the way some of you guys think!

Okay after some more tinkering I think I have solved my Hydromax issues. I replaced the valve with the X-40 valve and used some silicone sealant between the comfort ring and the gator. I was able to get a pump without losing pressure for once. It is definitely more comfortable then the X-40 model. Now if the damn sticker had the right measurements on it.

I will have to do more pumping to see the overall effects but at least I now have two pumps that work.

Good modification Doc! I bet there will be a big market for X-40 valves in the future.

The valve needs to be in the open position, expel water, lock valve. You can pump to a certain pressure and set it there. I am also loving it without the comfort pad:)

Hi DLD,

I'm a newbie to this forum, let alone Penis Enlargement. I've just got the Hydromax yesterday (my first pump ever). As such, I was dummy (zero knwledge/experience) to this pumping item and that throughout the whole night I've tried to figure out how to use it. I've tried to follow the method from the video (Bathmate website). When I first pump (when the valve is unlock) my flaccid penis began to erect and kinda get a good suction. But as soon as all the water has been expel. My penis slowly revert back to flaccid state and lose its suction. Only after several attempts i found out the only way to maintain a good suction is locking the valve once the intended pressure has been obtained. Is this the correct method? As i've mentioned i'm new to this pumping. Also, I've tried to research step by step procedure of how to use the Bathmate. So far it was mentioned like e.g "pump for 5 to 10 mins". I kinda dun get it coz from what I experience, pumping took less than a min since all the water has been expel. Does that mean that you have to refill the Hydromax with water and pump again until you reached 5 to 10 mins or once you got the suction (by locking the valve) you leave it for that 5 to 10 mins? Is there any step by step video that I can follow? Need your advice.

Hey Oribitx,

some tips i can give you are:

-go in erect
-shave or trim your pubes
-after entering, before pumping pull ur balls down
-try it without the comfortring

I have tried pumping flaccid.. and i cannot get the Bathmate to work that way.. either i get stuck to the side or, dont know what but doesnt feel good, gets sucked in.
Going in erect and kegeling when you pump gives me max length in the Bathmate.

Also, i figured this out thinking why another member had problems not going above his normal length.. you might want to try and place the Bathmate lower on yourself. So have your cock hug the top of the tube if you would be holding it horizontally.. hope that makes sense :)

Hi Extralarge,

Thanks for your reply. So far i've tried all of the above except taking out the comfort pad. Will give it a try & see how it goes. Anyway, I have a kinda small penis. 2+" flaccid & almost 4" erect, so kinda hard to even see my penis when pumping even when its erected.

Anyhow, back to my questions:-

1) am I'm doing the correct method; 'unlock' the valve when pumping and 'lock' the valve when achieving the desired pressure?

2) Also, when instructions mentioned to pump for 5 to 10 mins, does that mean that you've to keep on pump, refill, pump, refill & so on for 5 to 10 mins? Or does that mean that you have to leave on the Bathmate for 5 to 10 mins once you achieved the desired pressure (when you feel the firm suction)?

Sorry for asking too much.

Some would say yes, but you never need to lock the valve unless you want to fill it up with water when not in a bath.
As soon as you pump and create a vacuum that vacuum will pull in the valve locking it for you.

They are talking about the total time you are inside the pump. As a beginner i would not go with the recommended max of 20min, but go slow.. do like 2 five minute sets and be sure to jelq or massage your penis before and in between sets. Listen to your penis :)

And never asking to much. There are allot of guys on here willing to help out.

Hello, I am totally new to this forum...I am writing here because I am confused with the valve of my Hydromax...I am a newbie of using a pump, my size is 5.3 inch and I want to have this problem of suction fixed as fast as possible. I bought it 15 days ago, I communicate with the company, but it does not help me out how to use it correct, perhaps they not understand me correctly, and there is no video..:((...As I see here are many people knowing this product, experienced, I am seeking the correct best solution..
I am using the Hydromax in the shower, I don't have a tub. I read all the topic, but still I am not clear about what I am doing wrong.

ExtraLarge:
As soon as you pump and create a vacuum that vacuum will pull in the valve locking it for you. ( I want this but I don't have this )

My workout:
1-) I warm up for 5 minutes in shower CORRECT
2-) I close the valve and fill with warm water, also have a semi erect CORRECT
3-) I get in and make the Bathmate tight into my body fast without loosing water CORRECT
4-) I open the valve (middle) and start to pump almost slowly in forward (90 degree) position maximum 3 times even I do not get a harder penis , I pump3 times. Unsure about repeat more pump max 3 times or pump till I am harder but I loose too much water and thats the reason I pump maximum 3 times. Unsure how much water has to stay inside and air inside because water discharge is fast. Also the other problem is I get air inside back, what I have to do with the air.
5-) I close the valve (right or left) while I am pressing the Bathmate pumb tight on the 3. pump onto my body Unsure about lock (right-left) the valve and closing it while pressing it tight hard onto my body or if I have to close it while I am not not pressing..Perhaps I do have not to close the valve back at all after the pumps, but in this way it is not staying on the base and no suction happened if I do not lock it. ( After reading all the topic here, my lock back is the wrong thing I suppose, but if I not lock it while I am pressing it hard onto my body, air is coming inside and no suction happen)
6-)I am standing first 5 minutes in this position and again pump and again 10 minutes wait MUST BE SIMILAR CORRECT maximum 20 minutes

At number 4 and 5 I am not sure if all is going correct, I loose too much water, perhaps I can not regulate the correct pressure, I don't know how many times to pump or to pump till I am harder, if I pump too much all water almost run out, if I pump 3 times maximum only is that enough, and do I have to close the valve after 3 times pump and how the timing of closing the valve (press the Bathmate hard onto my body or not...

These are my main questions: I could not make the correct exercise at number 4 and 5

*Do I have a problem with the valve, or it is not correct installed?
*I don't want to use the " X-40" valve

( how to make this?)
*Past 2 days I've been pumping without any problem. I think the valve just needed to be broken in a bit.
*Yeah the valve does need to be broken in a bit.
This can maybe help me, but I can already open and lock the valve, is that something different as I understand?

* takes some time to break in according to many users. Learning the valve system does take time. I really wish it were a bit easier. Try this, on a flat surface place the pump flat on the table and break it in by pumping and releasing air, over and over. This helped me break it in and understand the valve system better. ( also not clear with this)

I really need a big help, I am so confused with a very simple pump and valve, when ı am pumping I don't get the pressure of water even I close the valve, because I have some air inside

Thanks to all who wants to help me in advance and give me a small support and reading effort..

I received my new valves both Hydromax and X-40. It definitely works better with the X-40 valve but now it sucks air through the base. I have tried using it with and without the base. My honest opinion is that the X-40 is much better. Anyone want to purchase my Hydromax? I'll include the extra valves. Make me a decent offer.

I am so confused on this issue, so many people like the X-40 over the Hydromax X40.

Hi, as I understand you have many experience with this, so your helps and others help can give me signifant improvements in using this device..my 2 marriages finished in base of a penis performance ( almost because of this, surely we had other problems also), now I want really to create a new penis performance and larger in girth and lenght size to avoid the risk of any problem of this..I started also to make exercises like jelq..Now I have a woman in my life since 3 months and she is fit with my performance, she like it, to be honestly, I experienced my best sex with her as I have had it in my previous times...and when I was speaking to her, that I will make my penis better and larger, she said that it is not needed I am a lion in the bed and she were happy very much of my performance..
So, however, I am not in agree with this, I lost 2 marriages based on a penis performance, and now I am loving her so much...If I will lose her because of any kind of a penis performance, my life will be really ruined...
Enough my story....Above I wrote detailed my problem with Hydromax valve...is it normal if air is inside after pump..I try to avoid air but a little part is always inside sometimes more but I have suction..I close the valve while I am pushing it hard onto my body and stay a while..I don't have pressure of water, but there is a suction..But I have to close the valve with a perfect timing...In above answers to the topic I read , the vacuum closes it automatic (like in X-40) and no air comes in...I am not sure what I am making wrong....Do I have to reset or install the valve or something? very strengh
Thanks for helps, again above I posted a detailed using of my perhaps wrong using..:)

I have heard so many times on different forums about guys experiencing difficulties with the valves on the Bathmates, especially the Hydromax. This is one of many reasons why a lot of guys have jumped ship and got themselves a penomet. I bought both the X-40 and the X40 about 7 weeks ago, unfortunately this was before i learnt about the penomet. I have not tried my X40 yet as i am still fairly new to pumping and the X40 is meant to be more intense. As DLD has pointed out ...more guys prefer the X-40 over the Hydromax and this has made me feel reluctant to make the transition.

@freedom48

You shouldn't have more air then a little bubble right below the valve.. otherwise you probably need to shave, trim and/or use lube to get an airtight seal.
I know it's harder in the shower.. i actually have problems with it, but im also not willing to completely shave everything down there so i use it in the bathtub..

Since I have made the mods to the Hydromax i.e. X-40 valve and using silicone sealer to seal the comfort ring, my Hydromax works like it is supposed to. It doesn't leak air and holds a tight seal and I get a good pump. I don't think I would look at a penomet now since I have made this mod.

I was pretty frustrated with mine and was going to sell it but now I am keeping mine.

Actually, the air does come inside from the valve after I am pumping and realese and pumping the second..I have to close the valve very fast after the first pump, only so I have a change to get a suction with little bubbles...I am always shaved,..I saw in videos people are pumping the device several times, I do it only one time and close the valve after I am pressing it strong tight on to my body..Something wrong with valve perhaps, it is not possible to pump several times, or I will get many air inside, ...strengh...

@ExtraLarge
Thanks..

@DocHollywood

please can you advise me of the using of the valve, how you could avoid the air coming in after pump...can you please detail me an explanation...I don't have a problem at all with a good seal and suction, I am facing a problem or unknown situation with my valve..Did you change the valve and use X-40 valve on it?

Thanks..

I used my old X-40 valve and it worked so much better. I then contacted Bathmate and they sent me a X-40 valve. I also siliconed the comfort ring and all is good now. No leaks and I can get really good suction now much better than the X-40 and much more comfortable.

Master of Repair!

My techniques for use in shower:

Step 1: Shave that Bush! You won't get good suction if you don't.

Step 2: I've tried the x40 flaccid and erect, turns out you will get a much better suction erect so get the jerking. Doesn't have to be 100% but close enough. I have my good old Flesh light so it doesn't take me long to get it up.

Step 3: the Vaseline between the pad and the gator works amazing. But it will do fine with out it. I also lube up a little around my pelvis area. After washing up with soap it can get it a bit tacky with all the friction from the suction.

Step 4: prior to filling it up. Insure your x40 is in the locked position. (All the way left or right and clicked into place) no water should come out.

Step 5: fill is with warm water all the way.

Step 6: aim your dick straight to the ground and drop it in. Let the excess water spill out the brim as you bring the x40 into your pelvis. Insure you keep your balls in a safe spot so when it time to pump the wont get sucked in.

Step 7: level the x40 parallel to the ground. Double check your balls. Keep it pressed against your body and watch for any continuous water leakage. If so start the process over again to insure you have a good initial pump. Try keeping tight to the pelvis without actually pumping the x40.

Step 8: when no water leakage is found now its time to click the valve switch to the middle and begin your initial pump. Water will shout out the valve and you will feel the suction. Pump to your comfort.

Step 9: once your dick starts to expand after a couple minutes now its time to pump to the MAX! After max suction is reached check and feel if u feel air slipping in around your pelvis. If not then its now optional to lock the switch.

Step 10: after your reached 20 minutes flick the switch to the middle and press in on the WHOLE VALVE. this will release the pressure allowing you to withdraw your dick from the x40. Dry it off, lube it up, and rub it out or jelq. Either one will reduce the risk of water retention. After that enjoy a bigger thick dick for however long it last for you. Hope it works for you! Good Luck.

Now the are my techniques that I use to combat lost of suction. Works every time for me. Never had spots, water retention, blisters or all the other BS people get from either over doing it or just doing it wrong.

So, after I get a new valve, my Hydromax working amazing...All problems happened because a defected valve... With the new valve no more problems of air...works amazing...

And "Crowdaddy " that is very good explanation, so I am doing it...:))
Thanks
