Bought an air pump about ten days ago because I'm curious, but not ready to spend big money just yet. Bought it from a legit online store after reading over one hundred reviews, most of which spoke of similar results - after pumping, dick was a good bit thicker for at least an hour. Some said two hours, some said three hours.

I excitedly followed the instructions to the letter - shave pubes, apply lube to rim, go in hard, create a good seal and pump. Well sir, did my Peter ever grow inside that pump! It was exciting to watch my member balloon past its usual dimensions - a little longer and twice as thick! I was so happy. If I release the pressure and he stays engorged like that for even just forty minutes, I'm gonna have great sex!

But alas!! When I let the pressure out of the pump, my dick goes immediately not only flaccid, but back to my regular uninspiring size :(

Why?

I get him in the pump and lightly squeeze and release, squeeze and release for maybe 3-4 minutes. In that time he goes up like a damn tree trunk. After that I feel a little bit cautious - don't want blisters or bruising so I roll off the pumping to a light squeeze-release-hold for maybe 15-20 seconds, then repeat. At this stage I feel like maybe I'm at maximum expansion so I'm careful not to push it any farther - I'm getting a little bit of soreness (just a little bit) and my head is really big and fat. The whole session is only ten minutes from start to finish because I'm a newbie so I'm being cautious. Once I'm done I go completely flaccid (weird as I don't have ED) and I do some stretching and jelqs for circulation (just as I do before).

So what am I doing wrong? Am I being impatient? Will I stay pumped after my session in good time, or is something wrong with my technique? The pump works. My dick works. Why don't I retain ANY of my size temporarily?

You need to do exercises, amidst your pumping sets. Like pump five minutes, jelq five minutes, and so on. I throw in bends, slow squash jelqs, ulis, clamps, and that is guaranteed to have my cock more enraged.
Give yourself time to learn how you react best to training, and remember you shouldn't expect things you haven't earned :blush:

Agree, much more can be done to help you gain for real. Since you have already started PE with the air pump and are pretty rehearsed with intensity I suggest you look over the SRT thread, it will give you a broader understanding of ho two gain the fastest.

I looked at it the SRT thread but I found it overwhelming and a little intimidating. Plus I can't reversel kegel yet. specifically I can kegel, but I can't do anything with the muscle other than pull in and then release. I will persevere, though.

Imagine you have to piss,and you have to push the flow of the urine really hard...like when you are in a hurry :) that's a reverse kegel,very easy to do.
 
^yeah you have to contract your lower abs, it'll look like you're balls are being given a little tug also.
 
I can do it if I'm forcing pee out, but if there's no pee I can't do it lol. I just can't isolate the muscle.

Yea it can be tricky at the begging.Keep trying :)

Have you looked through the Newbie Routine? This is a much less intense workout that can prepare you for SRT in the future.

Its harder to pull off without pee, but just keep contracting your lower abs until you see the testicles being pulled a little. Sometimes I'll be doing it, and it seems like hit n miss, but with practice you can even keep your ejaculate from releasing by using RK.

I think I got the RK but not entirely sure - does the sensation happen a little higher up than a normal Kegel?

Yes it does. You will also feel your stomach expand as you are doing it.
