I've been doing p.e. since 2000, with a few breaks here and there. I've noticed many times that hours after I've completed a pump session, my flaccid size will be noticably smaller than before my session began. I've tried different types of pumps, including the Bathmate, with nothing permanent. This has also happened to me when hanging different types of weights from my penis. I recently tried hanging steel rings around my shaft, but found that golf weights made for a better stretch. The only thing that hasn't made me shrink is manual stretching, jelqing/jelq variations. I would think in theory that pumping/hanging would be superior to manual work, but not so in my case, which is puzzling. Has anybody else experienced this similar phenomenon of shrinkage hours after pumping or hanging as I would surely like to make gains instead of losing what I already have?

I have never done any sort of pumping by itself. It sounds like you have/do? I'm currently using my Bathmate, THEN clamping and am not seeing the shrinkage you speak of. In fact,more often than not, I am still slightly larger for many hours after I finish my session.

For most men, like I've said elsewhere on this forum, I don't suggest hanging. It's nowhere near as effective as stretching in my opinion. I'm basing that opinion on actual hanging experience and gains from hanging as well, not Penis Enlargement bro-speak or theory-crafting. There's just way too much adaptation required with hanging to get up to any respectable amount of weight, that would be required to come close to getting similar amounts of resistance. Sure, you can hang for (usually) 15-20 minutes at a time, BUT...again with very little weight usually. The average hanger is using 5-12lbs...and often for YEARS. A stretcher can pull with much more resistance, especially on advanced stretches which use leverage. Sure, you only pull for 30-90 seconds or so at a time, but that adds up with multiple stretches, and before you know it, you have done 15 minutes or more. I'd rather stretch for a combined total of 15 minutes with 50lbs equivalent resistance than hang for 15 minutes with 10 measly pounds.

I don't know where the whole idea got started that hanging was somehow superior...I think it's all wishful thinking. I've just seen too many men try to hang for an hour a day, 5 days a week and never really get very far. Hanging requires much more time than that to make gains. If a guy is going to hang with lower weights (10-15lbs), he needs a FEW hours a day. Most men just don't have that kind of time. I'm also of the belief nowadays that Penis Enlargement should be a beneficial thing to a man's life, not something that takes away from it. I can knock out my entire routine in less than an hour a day now.

Still, I think the intensity level of hanging changes dramatically after 20lbs. I only speak from what I have experienced myself, when I firstly hung 20lbs+ I felt every single part of my penis extending. It's probably a hard time to get to the heavy weights, but if you are there and if you are one day able to hang 30lbs+ there is simply no way you won't make gains, it wouldn't make any logic if you didn't make gains. Hanging has great potential if done correctly and intense enough, but for the beginner I guess that stretching is just the only option for quick gains (I can't imagine gaining quickly 2"+ with only 8 or 10 lbs...).

Exactly, and I can literally count on two hands the number of men besides myself who I have seen profess to EVER getting up to anywhere near those weight levels with hanging. That's after a decade+ of being around the community. I've seen plenty of men struggle to gain (some for years...seriously why not move on???) with the lower weights though. Not trying to piss on your toes of course.
 
I have gone as heavy as 50 pounds for sets but I worked up to this over a few months time. I really did not see what I expected to see from hanging so I moved on.
 
I have experienced this phenomenom before, but it usually only happens when I first get started with a new routine or exercise that my penis is not used to. After a few weeks, you should not be having this problem. However, if you over do it and pump with too much pressure, it can have a negative effect. Start slow and take it easy.
