The way i look at it is it can't hurt and can only possibly help. Do what you have time for. that just may be some light stretching for a couple minutes before getting into strong stretching a heat pad for how ever long. I always at least massage my cock after a hanging, pumping, or stretching session. then i try to always put on my extender or a wrap afterwards to heal elongated.
 
Short answer, no. It may help, but the most gains I ever made were when I didn't do warm ups or warm downs. The only time they're necessary is for clamping or other really intense girth work.
 
Some people prefer to do warm up and down and there are some who don't do it. I see it as the part of the PE process and I do realize after warming up, the tissue in my penis feel loose which allow me to stretch my penis further. Find what best for you.

I found the most gains I ever made were in either done in or near a constant source of heat, water or heater. At least I felt like I healed better for the next day, and I've had less turtling and negative effects from an intense session.
 
Warming up I believe is definitely beneficial. Warm down I feel can be done differently. I generally just soak in the tub with warm water or put some clothes on and use that as a warm down in essence.

I remember I used to spend almost as much time with my heating pad as I did stretching, and it never made any difference. I guess everyone just reacts differently.

How much time were you using the heating pad vs actually stretching?

Personally, I use one of those moveable shower heads on the cord, you know the kind, and then just sit on the edge of the tub with that shit blasting my junk at full heat for anywhere from at least 5 -10 minutes, while doing some light stretching at the same time, then I go into the LM and do a length session for 30 minutes, and I'm still pretty warm after that, just as long as the AC is off and the fan is off too. I just don't think I get anywhere near as good a stretch or as warmed up as I do with any other method, having tried the heating pad, but like you said, everyone is different.

Usually I would warm up around 20 minutes, but I've experimented with different heating methods and different times. Never made any difference.
 
A warm up for me has always just been going light to intense while a warm down is going intense to light. There are all different ways to warm up and down. If you are prone to discoloration or red spotting it is definitely something you want to do.

I started doing myofacial massaging now before and after a routine, but previously I rarely if ever warmed up because I don't like to keep my arousal waiting, which is another reason why I rarely incorporate stretching into my routines.

How do you do myofascial massage for your cock? I am a licensed massage therapist use massage for my warm up and cool down.
 
I got it from a book called Iron Man Penis and also from a thread at Pegym. It's basically massaging the CC in circles with the thumb or desired fingers inch by inch, side by side while erect with optional clamping: this is my version, slightly different from Iron Man
 
Hmm I never did erect massages before. I always stretch lightly while flaccid then use my other hand to try to massage as deep as possible.

Yes, because you can really isolate areas that may be more in need than others. It works to disperse fluid retention and heal tissue that has been effected during exercise. It also feels great!

Is fluid retention all that bad? I rarely, if ever get any. But yea, finishing off with a penile and testicle massage is always nice.
