From what I've read I understand, that the base grip has mainly a "steering" function, while - like you said - the clamp does the job of keeping the blood in place. Since it is the element of wall squashing (or is it also the double clamping?) that distinguishes this exercise from other clamping exercises, I just wondered that you seemed to primarily refer to the clamps in your argument. That's where I was heading with my post. anyway, now that you've thankfully clarified your statement, I get that it's the whole composition of the elements that works well for you.
I always envied people around for getting temp expansion of 0,5" or even more. I never manage to get that kind of expansion (with 0,25" being my utmost level). While I have very strong grip, I can't hold that grip for much longer than 1 minute. That's where the clamps would do their job. The only reason which keep me off from buying them is the fact, that I already get a lot of red spots when I do very intense SSJs (with 100% erection and an iron grip) or manually performed Frendoz. I guess I still have to build up to clamps.
