Bib, or any other people who have experience hanging, I direct this question to you. I want to start hanging. I recently got a new computer, and a new place, so I have alot more privacy. My question is this; is there a comfortable way to hang, sitting on an office, swivel-type chair?
 
First find out your lot. If you've got some gains to be made from your ligs, get used to BTC hanging. Start light. I hang sitting on my office chair, my ass below the top of my desk and put my feet up. My BIB hanger is nestled in my asscrack. It seems to work best at this point for me.

I never could figure out my LOT. Can you hang in any other angles in your chair?
 
Hey Kal,

I am by no means a hanging guru or anything, but I have been at it for a few months. Since I have a low LOT, I have been hanging at higher angles, and it's pretty easy to do in a swivel chair, or any chair at all.

Basically, I sit backwards in my chair so that the back cushion part is in front of me. I then attach my hanger and then attach the weight to a long rope and then use the back of the chair as a fulcrum. So the rope pulls my hanger upwards and then pulls over the chair back part and then pulls downward. Some stress is lost because of the fulcrum so I am able to hang heavier.

Of course, if you want to hang straight down, just attach and let the weights fall between your legs :-D.

Lot is pretty easy to figure out. Maybe you won't nail it but you should get close. It could save you a lot of time needlessly hanging at an angle that won't get gains.

As for a different angle in my chair, why bother. BTC is getting exactly the ligs I want to target. I have good soreness after my session right at the base above my dick.

I did all of my hanging in an executive type office chair. You can hit all angles between OTS down to BTC. By scooting your butt backwards or forwards, adjusting the position of your pelvis, you can hit almost any angle. For OTS, you will need to use a rope extension. For SO, the hanger can be almost on the front edge of the chair, with the strap and weights over the edge.

You can also easily hang OTL or UTL while sitting. Use a folded towel between the hanger and your leg.

With almost any angle, hanging while sitting, you will need to adjust the amount of weight to allow for friction. Except of course for BTC. With BTC, there should be little if any friction.

Bib, thanks for the response man. Anyway, I know it's possible to hand BTC in a chair, but is it possible to be comfortable simeltaneously?

Larry29, I tried again, and I cannot find my LOT. I do not feel a tugback at any angle.

Yes it does. I indeed find it comfortable, not to mention do-able.Have you gained anything from hanging in this way?
 
Hey Kal,

I have gained a little, though I've only been at it for about 2 months. My main goal is to increase my LOT before going back to BTC hanging for hitting the ligs for the major length gains. But yes, I have gained less than an eighth of an inch hanging upwards, and prior to that, I did gain a little less than a quarter inch hanging straight down (for about 7 weeks).

The only problem I ever had was with the small of my back. I have had back problems for a couple decades. I learned to put a small pillow behind my back, and that solved the problem.

Other than that, I would say it was extremely comfortable.

Bib, I was wondering if you suggest hanging a certain way? Because I can't locate my LOT, so I really don't know what angle(s) I should be stressing the most? BTC by far, feels the most intense. I tried hanging the way Manofprinciples told me, as it is extermely comfortable, but being as I'm using the chair as a fulcrum, 5lbs. seems like nothing.

Go with BTC, or the lower angles, for a couple of months, until you no longer see gains. At that point, decide if you need more intensity, or if you have played out gains from lig stretch. Then, if the later, switch to the upper angles.

I have another question. Should I continue to jelq, or is it best to just hang first?

I do not recommend going for girth while hanging for length. However, I do recommend light jelqing to help with circulation, between sets, and at the end of the hanging session.

I guess he's saying to use the extra time you would be jelqing to add another set or two of hanging.

Jelq between sets lightly, especially BTB. Then apply heat for the first half of the first half of your sets. IOW, sets 20 minutes, heat for ten. If you do four sets per day, heat before the first set, and then for the first ten minutes of the first two.
