I am currently doing 600 jelqs (with Vaseline) then 15 minutes with the bathmate. I get the donut effect but it doesn't bother me....as long as the donut doesn't effect my gains. DLD should I stick with my current program?

it is best to go 5 minutes in the pump and then 5 minutes doing the jelq then repeat 3 times. This will keep the swelling down and will give excellent tissue expansion.

Yes, that's part of SRT routine, maximum tissue expansion with minimal fluid retention.
 
I get that water retention is not aesthetically pleasing but besides that what is the importance of avoiding? I guess because it doesn't bother me I am just wondering if it is dangerous or affecting my gains.
 
I dont like it homes I read that all that inflammation in one sitting produces waste in water, and i dont know what else plus its not even real expansion so you're post measures are thrown off. Just do it like dad bro it doesn't hurt could even help.

haha yes Ive seen some gross stuff like women who "rosebud" its nasty. The whole reason I ask about the 5x5 is because I already have an hour invested in stretching and jelqing session then to add the 5x5 to my already 15 min shower is like 2 hours....just seems ridiculus. Seems I would be better off avoiding going over 15 minuts of bathmate and not pumping to full pressure. Ive been jelqing for 3 weeks and bathmate for 2 and already noticed some gains. I feel that fluid retention can bloat the skin a bit too much. And for me having the doughnut effect, it actually hurt a bit sliding my foreskin. Don't know if you're cut or not.
In all understanding, the fluid retention is like a "blister." You don't blisters, do you? I've had a few from walking long distance etc., and they're not nice.
So I'll definitely avoid fluid retention. All in all, I think for gains it is better to avoid the fluid retention. You have one penis, don't risk it!
 
Tkto I ttold you it was nasty. retention doesn't scare me because I have kidney disease and have been on dialysis for years prior to getting a transplant in 2012 and when your kidneys don't work you cant pee which is why you do dialysis to remove excess water and toxins. When I was on dialysis Ive seen my penis filled with fluid until it was purple and lumpy all over. No doctor was ever concerned and it always went away once I got to dialysis. The retention bathmate gives me is a tiny bit right around the bottom of my glands. So to me personally it doesn't look bad or feel bad. I used the bathmate today and I went a little easier and didn't get any retention.

Yea healthier than before still have to take strong meds though which have too many side effects to list. But the ole' weiner is working perfectly these days, which is great. Having more sex in a week than I use to have in a year.
 
I have literally seen no difference in the amount of fluid retention in 5x5x3 vs one giant set. It's actually worse when I have done traditional jelqs in place of SSJs. I'm going to at the very least try to not completely take a shit on what others have said; however I think there is too much emphasis put on how to prevent fluid retention in the BM, but one thing that I have found to work for me in combating the donut is:

Heat, before and after. Don't skip this. Heat pad, rice sock whatever you got. Cold dick plus crazy pressure equals big donut. Lots of heat. 10-20 min after is a great post workout routine. It will bring healing factors and proteins that are less present in the fluid that is already there.

Massage. Post workout and more importantly post ejaculation, your dick is super sensitive and in a pretty beat up state. Let's face it, the BM is a pretty traumatic place for the penis. So, after you have your penis nice and hot, grab the lotion and get to work giving yourself at least 5 min of deep tissue massage, paying close attention to trouble spots ie the donut. One can actually work much of the fluid out of the penis and back in to the lymph system with these two techniques.

If post workout ejaculation is not part of your routine you are at an even better position to give yourself an erect massage, which can be very helpful since you can push the superficial fluid against the erectile tissue in it's fully expanded state.
