If I could increase my legs and butt in size it would give me so much more confidence. I always feel so out of proportion. Thanks for the advice and as soon as I get better I will start. So go heavy to build size, right?
Yes heavy to build size. I say if going this route, stick to reps 8 to 12 reps. So if leg size is your goal, this is a sample routine I do on my leg day:
Warm up on stationary bike for 5 mins.
-Leg extensions (warm up and get blood in the legs nothing to heavy but also nothing to light)
4 sets of 8 to 12 reps
-squats(heavy) 1 or 2 warm up sets of 8 to 12 reps
Then 4 heavy working sets of 5 to 8 reps
-leg press 4 sets of 12 to 15 reps (challenging weight)
- walking weighted lunges
4 sets of 8 to 12 steps each leg side
- leg extensions (heavy)
4 sets of 8 to 10 reps
-calve raises
4 sets of 20 to 25 reps
You should have a good pump, especially after the weighted walking lunges.
For an extra boost, drink one cup of coffee or one 100 mg caffeine pill, 5 grams creatine monohydrate, and 5 grams of l-arginine.
You shall be sure the next couple of days if pushing hard.
