I've been hanging for a couple weeks now. I really like it, because I like the idea of multi-tasking. Right now, I wrap, and attach the hanger close to the base for skin stretch? My workout weight is usually 5lbs. I hang about 5 sets in the a.m., and 2 or 3 at night. For my first set, I usually hang 15lbs. to reach fatigue, and I always do, then I hang 10lbs for 1 set, then 5lbs. for the rest. Is this okay?

Kal,

Well, it sounds like you have a plan. The 15 lbs seems agressive for only two weeks in. But only you can judge the safety of the matter.

I always recommend stretching skin first, so that is good.

Yes, perhaps I should drop it to 10 lbs. I should still be able to reach fatigue after 1 set. How long do you suggest to stretch the skin for?

Bib, or any other people who have experience hanging, I direct this question to you. I want to start hanging. I recently got a new computer, and a new place, so I have alot more privacy. My question is this; is there a comfortable way to hang, sitting on an office, swivel-type chair?

Check out my routine in my progress thread. I use an office chair when I'm stretching straight out and it is great. I just use my legs to adjust the weight.

Gomer, that is rather interesting. Right now I'm only hanging BTC. I think it's pretty comfortable. (I'm not clock-watching) I only hang 5 or 6 sets a day, I get up earlier to hang my 5 sets, so I don't have to worry about it later. :)

Kal,

Whatever it takes so that at some point, you are able to apply most of the stress to the underlying ligs, and almost none to the skin.

Thanks Bib. I have some brusing on the shaft, what is the cause of this?

Kal,

>I have some brusing on the shaft, what is the cause of this?<

I assume you mean discoloration. Seldom have I seen or heard of actual bruising. The discoloration comes from higher than normal blood pressure pushing red blood cells across semi-permeable membranes, where they usually are prevented from going.

These cells get caught in the deeper layers of the skin. Many have had success with Arnica gel, or wrapping to promote fluid buildup, both of which can have success in removing the trapped cells.

Bib, in the morning I'm usually pretty compressed for time, so I like to reach the fatigued state as soon as possible. So, I usually hang 15lbs. for 1 set, then I always am fatigued after that, but I can only seem to tolerate hanging 5lbs. when I am fatigued?

That is not unusual. Also, please realize that may change. As you become more conditioned, it will take a larger max weight, and you may not need to drop down so far. As long as you can feel the 5 lbs. giving a good stretch, and some fatigue, you are probably deforming tissues. Never be afraid to drop the weight however much is needed to be able to continue to hang.

I assume you are still feeling a good stretch and fatigue even dropping that far?

Yes, I still feel a great stretch at 5lbs, especially during fatigue.

Well I've been hanging for a little over a month now, and I had to stop. My shaft is totally transformed. It has great discoloration, and severe chaffing at the base. Not to mention, I developed a clear blister right under the glans, but that might have to do with this yeast infection I sometimes get on my penis, my urologist tells me its from being on antibiotics and having fluctuating blood sugars. Anyway, I'll figure I'll go back to my jelqing regime as per Samz, and I hope the brusing clears up soon, cause I can't explain that to women?

What do you mean by severe discoloration? Does it go away? If not, then you probably have an adjustment problem, or were wrapping too tight. I can try to help you if you wish.

The chaffing at the base may be skin stretch. You should apply a good Vit E based lotion to the area to help with stretch marks. No way around that. I have been told that plain Vasoline is good for skin stretch also. Helps hold in the natural oils.

Never heard of hanging with a Bib causing blisters.

If it is bruising, you surely had an attachment problem. Or tried to move up in weight too quickly. But how is a woman supposed to know what you should look like?
