The use of any sort of pumping device can cause tiny blood vessel breakages, producing a buildup of iron under the skin and thus a darker "tanned" look. There is a forum section dedicated to removing this "discoloration" should you need it though.
As for the gains, those you see at first will not be permanent but any temporary gains repeated frequently over a prolonged period will transition into permanent ones. If you stick to a routine, you will gain permanently.

It depends on the intensity and time spent in pump. If you go and pump for 30 minutes your penis will be massive but it will be mostly water while if you pump for shorter sets of 5 minutes, countered with jelqing or Slow Squash Jelqing you will see much better results with mostly tissue expansion and very little retention.

Overall its 30 minutes of the most effective girth expansion exercises we've got.
I do this wearing a cockring or you can put one on after to heal expanded.

Your best results will be to go in fully erect, and kegel into it. With a light compression on gator I begin to kegel and the vacuum power sucks my penis huge right away. Lil pump, kegel to push out more water... and I'm about +1" in girth and length expanded pretty quick bro. Now, this took me s months conditioning and experience how to pump properly with no air in. make sure that your pubes are nice and trimmed. you can also use some vaseline or lube around the seal. if those don't work, you might have A, a defective pump, or B, the pump might be too big for you.
