I have seen it time and time again, and it has happened to me twice. The dreaded water blisters from vacuum hanging. No one is safe from these things if they are hanging unintelligently. They take about a week to heal, and if the skin peels off, OUCH! It's a horrible pain, especially when your piss leaks into the wound. :O :O :O :O :O

I'm tired of seeing so many threads here and at ThundersPlace so I decided I'd let everyone know what I do to help prevent them(has been 100% effective so far, if I still get one, trust me, I'll make a big post about it).

First off, what causes water blisters? Friction/pressure is what causes a blister, and a moist environment breads the water type of blisters. So why is this relevant?

Well, all vacuum devices cause there to be moisture that evaporates from the "atmosphere" within the vacuumed device. In a penis pump, you can see the moisture evaporating on the sides of the tube. It is like this with all vacuum devices, including hangers. This is the FIRST problem(and most dangerous).

Secondly, friction/pressure causes blisters. Too much vacuum pressure and/or slippage(friction) would be enough to produce a blister.

Because your penis head is in an environment that is moist by default, your chances of getting a water blister is pretty high. The only thing needed for a water blister to form is putting too much pressure in the chamber and/or having the penis head slip across the sheaths(sliding).

The two times that I have gotten water blisters was when my penis slid, just a little, from the sheath. I'm not sure if a blister was formed immediately or not, as I hung about 30 minutes in that slipped position, which is not a good idea.

Now, what are some good ways to prevent water blisters?

The one tried-and-true device that I use to prevent water blisters is self-adhesive sports wrap. I'd recommend the 3" wide ones, but 2" does fine(unless you have a really long head). These rolls of wrap are amazing. Not only do they absorb the moisture(reducing most of the risk from moisture), they help keep the penis head from slipping in the sheath(if you use monkeybar's vac hanger or TheGRIP). Ever since using this before I hang I have not had ANY moisture buildup and NO slippage. Also, you can reuse these strips time and time again. They only stick to themselves, and nothing else. TheGRIP guys recommend this to everyone who buys their products, as they send a roll of Co-Flex Sports Wrap. I just buy the CVS 2" Self-Adhesive Sports Wrap, it's like $3. Works like a charm.

All you do is wrap is lengthwise around your penis head, making sure to snug it under the coronal ridge. Then, with the extra "slack" on the top of the wrap, mash it together onto a point on top of your penis head tip. This should totally encompass your whole head with the wrap, leaving nothing open to the outside.

I have found that this has been very effective so far in preventing water blisters. Also, it helps prevent fluid buildup.

Another option might be to add a heat source(like a heat pad) while vacuum hanging, as using one when penis pumping pretty much eliminates the condensed moisture on the outside of the tube. I have not tried this, but I'm sure it'd help a lot, too.

Although im not into pumps or hanging, this is a great thread. Taking our time to guide/help others. Good Job 10inch.

I agree that friction or too much vacuum pressure can cause water blisters. However, I don't think the humidity or moisture inside the tube has any effect on them since the fluid in the blister originates from under the skin. The blister forms because the vacuum pressure pulls the lymph fluid to the surface of the skin through a weakened area of the dermis, but is then trapped by the tougher epidermis layer of skin.

Wrapping the glans reduces blisters primarily by helping to equalize the surface pressure. Wrapping will also reduce friction, but I think in terms of vacuum pumping and hanging, that is at best a secondary cause of blisters. Friction can also be easily eliminated by using some lube on your glans and/or inside the tube.

Incidentally, the condensation that forms on the inside of a vacuum tube is caused by the internal relative humidity reaching 100%. The lower air pressure inside the tube can not hold as much moisture as the air outside the tube, so reaching 100% humidity happens much easier. The condensation forms on the tube's inner surface because it is cooler than the warm moist air inside the tube that is heated by your penis and moistened by your precum and any liquidized lube.

Heating the tube will reduce condensation, just like a heated mirror in a hot shower will not fog. However, that won't have any effect on blisters because the internal air moisture will be just as high, if not higher than not heating the tube.

i must have a weird ass diK cause i have never got a blister , and i started hanging 5 pounds for 60 minutes from the get go . with my max vac

You don't have a weird ass dick, just good technique and probably some luck.

5 lbs. was no problem for me either. I didn't start getting blisters until I hung 7.5 lbs for more than 30 minutes. I blamed it on insufficient conditioning.

I think my first was at 10 lbs. Damn that sucked.

I got one while hanging 5 lbs for about an hour and then I transitioned into ADSing with the hanger for an hour with little to no breaks. I placed a hot pack on for an hour and gently messaged my dick and by that time it was good to go although I oped for Lazy-ass stretches instead of vacuum ADSing.

Keep us posted on this issue because I tried the Max Vac and got 2 grape sized blisters on my glans and that hurt like a mother fucker. 5 pounds for 2 30 minute sets and all I got was some of the worst pain I've felt in a long time (they popped in the shower). I would much rather fight through the pinching and burning of the Bib than go through that again. However, if you find a way to avoid blisters I'm all ears. Please reply again in another 30 days or so and let us know if this has been successful and what your routine is.

Ok guys, it has been about a month and I have been consistently wearing a strip of adhesive sports wrap while hanging and even ADSing(not ANS). I have had virtually NO fluid buildup and NO water blisters. It really is amazing.

The main problem I have with the wrap is that it gets annoying for the head. After a while it starts to irritate the head because the material is a little "scratchy." It all depends how good you wrap it too, sometimes I can go for 2 1/2 hours in the ADS before it starts irritating and sometimes after 45 minutes it'll start irritating. It's not needed for the ADS but I like to wear it just in case and to help prevent slippage. For ANS I don't wear it at all because it is too annoying for many hours, and I only use a key reel with 1 lbs of tension at night(very good 8+ hour stretch).

The ideal material would be a little softer, like a cloth. I'm sure others could try out different materials, please add them here!

This has definitely got my attention. The Bib is "doable" for me but I can't go longer than 15 minutes at 25 pounds with it. Speaking of the Bib, why not wrap the way you would with the Bib, but covering the glans instead? You said a softer material would be ideal so why not wrap a small piece of soft bandage material around the glans first and then apply the Co-Flex stuff? Would the Co-Flex stuff be able to stay put if it isn't directly touching your skin?

Yes, it sticks to itself. The only reason I ever have to stop short of one hour in my sessions is because the sports wrap is irritating my head >:( . If I could get a good, thin soft material, things would be perfect. I could hang for hours at a time again if I wanted to, since I used to take naps and hang at the same time, the perfect routine for a busy college kid! :p

I ordered some Co-Flex so I'm going to try this one more time after I get back from Christmas break. Hopefully this will work with my Max-Vac because that is the only vac hanger I have.

I got two grape size blisters at 10 lbs. after a continuous 45 minute session with my Max-Vac. I waited about 3 weeks before starting again. I try to hang for 45-60 minutes, but after about 15 minutes, I take the weight off AND take the air tube off the plug for a few minutes and then start again. This has helped me.

I thought is was manditory, the sports adhesive tape is supposed to worn underneath the sheath. In the 2 years of vac hanging I never got a blister,
I got lots of hard skin, but never a blister. Anyway, on the grip page they sell this wrap and it also tells you about it in their direction manual, so I never understand why the hell you used it without?

Laziness. I had to learn the hard way. If they made cotten adhesive grip then that'd be perfect!

You can't put any cloth under the tape, it won't stick.
The grip rules :)

Ya man but my head gets all irritated from the itchy material. If it was soft it'd be perfect, but sometimes I have to stop short of an hour just because my head is really irritated.

dude once your done hanging, or in a bunch of months when you think you need a change up, I just use it asa manual. 15 min sets, about 3 ofem until I feel fatige, then to the legstrap for some hours, after that my bpsfl is like 1/4" more!

gatta go to homedepot with pops, he's buying me a chainsaw ?:( sohe'd can watch me cut more wood for the winter NY :)
