Nice routine (for the moment!) Big Schwanz Acht!
I think in the message was a good point; for the moment. The best "routine" will always vary depending on several factors. For some the 5x5x3 works very well, but when gains halt, it's best to check for an another routine.
So, many routines are good, some even excellent; but "just" like in body building, variety plays a key in growth. (So I've read.)
Basically keeping the body doing some guess work from time to time and giving different stimulus.
So, variety. Sometimes I do a longer run of 5x5x3 or variant, lately I tried the cold water method which can be combined with 5x5x3 though. One idea was to do very cold, moderate and warm water sets, ending in the warm water.
And of course it's not written in stone, the five minutes; so go shorter and some longer, mostly based on avoiding the point of fluid retention. (Or at least excessive fluid retention.)
Consistency, a word I haven't seen in a moment (or maybe I'm skipping!), is the key. Choose a routine you like, be consistent with it, but if gains halt, re-check your routine!
Just my viewpoint, my training sessions are different pretty much every time. But I'm doing a lot to remain consistent!
