I've just started and wondered if PE can be compared with Maxwell Maltz book 'Pyscho-cybernetics'. Maltz was a plastic surgeon who discovered even after surgery many patients still saw themselves as disfigured. He learned even if someone has achieved physical beauty they still have to fix what's going on in the mind too.

If someone does PE and manages to achieve a large size, how difficult is it to mentally adapt to now having a large penis?

Are there still periods of feeling self conscious about your size? Particularly when around women. I'm just starting at a very modest EL -4.8 and E.G. - 4.8. This plays on my mind constantly, especially around women. I'm 37 years old and I'm more conscious now about my lack of size than I was when 17. For others who started out small. How long did it take to recognise your actually above average even when you get above about EL - 6 inches? . Does the target just keep changing to a larger size?

I dont know if i fall under the upper percentile (im 7*5) , but to tell you the truth i feel small at this length. And i dont know if i will feel the same way when ill reach 8.
 
You definitely fit into that category. 7 by 5 is massive mate. Congratulations.

The reason I asked the original question was your story is similar to my friend. He did a mix PE and Bathmate. He's packing 7.5 by 6 At no point does he ever say "I've got a massive penis". The dude only ever talks negatively about his penis. He puts hours into PE each week.

A girl I work with went out with him for a short time last year. She said his penis caused her pain and he constantly thought he was small. I mentioned this too him. All he said was "it could be bigger. I want a ���� dick". This guy started out in 2012 at my size or smaller. His penis has certainly grown but his self image hasn't. In his head his penis is still lacking.

I wonder how many people still consider their penis small even if evidence proves otherwise.
 
I've never been anything close to small, since I started at 7"nbpel x 5"eg, so I can't speak on the mental transition from below average to above average.

I can say that whenever I reach a new size, it normalizes very quickly.

I'll notice that I'm bigger and it's like "holy shit this thing is gigantic!" and it looks unbelievably huge to me, even adding just an eighth of an inch in length. But after no more than a week the size starts feeling completely normal to me.

Even so, I certainly don't feel small, and I know that I'm massive. The "novelty" of increased size just wears off quickly, until I make more noticeable gains.
 
You seem to want more everytime you get gains. I started around 6-6.5(I measured incorrectly when first starting out) erect length and around 5-5.25girth a year ago. Now im at 8.0 BPEL x 5.5-5.75 EG, and I still feel like im not happy with that. But its when you get compliments or comments from the ladies, "Its thick!" "You feel BIG" is when you know your unit is progressing and hard work is paying off.

I perceive a normal to big cock. Sometimes I tend to say it is huge. But I know that it is very large. Because I can measure it. After some time I didn't care about my perception that much. I know it is not as normal as it appears in my perception. Some time ago I became short lived depressive moods when I saw people in the locker room. I perceived big cocks but I knew it wasn't possible that every man I see now is longer than 20cm. For me it is more important to know than to perceive. I would say this is a general thing in life - that our perception is extremely biased and that the truth is somewhere else and sometimes we shouldn't wait until we perceive things because we know they are already in place.
 
Yes to an extent you always want more, im almost 9x 6 when measuring post bathmate. I read a book that said strengthen your strengths so i decided to make my big dick even bigger. One thing i will tell anybody if they have weight to lose lose it it will automatically make your dick look bigger. i know doing self improvement work that once i get 9x6 i will go into maintenance mode for gains and that will be me. i think you need to improve your mentality, maybe start eating well, sleeping well etc.

every woman I've been with has made a 'huge/big/omg' comment, and reading the above posts, it seems that I fall into the popular trappings of perception vs. reality. Perhaps it's due to seeing myself everyday and that's the 'normal', I'm not sure...but it certainly adds credence to the fact that PE is as much a mental art as it is a physical one.

Just as we were used to being a size we had all of our life it becomes difficult to see changes without the 'old you' adding to the issue. As we grow in size we need to grow in mind to be able to really see and appreciate the gains. Many men do not like to do this but I think it is so valuable, even if you do it only for yourself and that is progress pictures. These will never lie to you or make you doubt the changes you have made, it is picture proof.

Very true...I just hit and verified a milestone for me yesterday, capturing it with a pic is today's task :)
 
so here's what helped me actually mentally see that im big, I would look at my penis in the same perspective of a ���� video and see my dick was bigger or the same size as those ���� star dudes and i'd be amazed because normally i wouldnt think i look big. But comparing to a pornstar with the same dick measurement helps you see that you are big.
 
I'm not big yet, working on it but not there. When you see your penis every day you don't notice the gains as much. It's the same as if you started exercising and eating right to lose weight and dropped 1-2lbs/week (which is what they consider healthy). You see it daily and don't notice it as much so you may still see yourself as overweight.

At some point in any self improvement journey you'll hit a point that you notice the difference. The nice thing is that the ruler doesn't lie. It could be your waistline or penis size but the ruler will tell the truth every time.

It also helps when others notice and point it out to you. Years ago I had gained 20lbs and I didn't really notice it until I had to step on a scale. Well every spring/summer it seems like my appetite decreases and I'll lose a little. That particular year I did change some eating habits. 6 months later 2 people asked me what I had done to lose weight. I didn't even notice. Turns out I had lost 25lbs. I saw it daily though and still had the image in my head of being a little overweight.

With my penis I noticed that I could start feeling the cervix a bit more without folding my wife in half. Yes I was still pushing in pretty hard and going for depth but it was easier. Her noises and reactions also helped me notice my gains. Even though she won't admit she likes me doing PE she's reaping the benefits.

You'll find something eventually that tells your conscious self "wow! We've made an improvement!" You just have to be looking for it.
