Its a small investment to give you a feel for the more expensive ones. The disadvantages with the maxxtender are its use of a noose and its bulky (you could only use this thing at home, no chance wearing it under pants etc). That being said, you can exert some tremendous pressure/stress with the maxxtender, in fact much more than the expensive ones. Two comments:

(1) Beware of anything with a noose, it will put your dorsal nerve at risk. I suffered a 24-hr ED, I mean a complete loss of erection from screwing around with the dorsal nerve. There are better ways of gripping the penis, some of the other [words=https://shop.mattersofsize.com/products/sizegenetics-penis-extender]extenders[/words] address this.

(2) Look at some of the other products this guy has for sale. Most are the novelty type stuff you can find in your local adult entertainment shop, albeit at a much higher price. Take the Fireman's Pump for instance, it provides good suction but you can barely fit into it. After the pump digs into your fat pad their isnt much room left for length gains either.

Two identical brands I know are Cable Clamp and Cable Cuff. Each retails for under $4. Look up clamping in the search function and you will see a lot of articles and posts about clamping.
