Hello.

I suspected this would be a problem. I ordered the Bathmate anyway.

I have a 'moderate' varicocele on the left testicle extending up the vas deferens. It is a typical varicocele with a 'bag of worms' type feeling. I've had it since the beginning of puberty.

With use of the Bathmate, the varicose vein begins to be sucked out of position, (along with the delicate tubes etc linked to the testicles) thus causing a tender ache similar to that of pressing down on a bruise.

I feel that I can no longer use the Bathmate. This was my first and only session and it is such a shame as I felt the suction working to engorge the penis, but after 30 seconds use the pain set in and I had to stop due to fear of serious injury/rupture.

Would it be worth undergoing surgery to correct the varicocele? I have tried to rationalise a reason to go under the knife but so far nothing has persuaded me to do it. Perhaps this is a reason?

If anyone is in the same boat and can share a solution, please let me know.

Tie back or wrap your scrotum before pumping. This will keep everything out of the way and should make for a much more pleasant session.

I really don't like constantly asking questions as I feel I should know this by intuition.. but is there any specific way to wrap/hold the scrotum back?

Try using a hair tie rubberband. You'll have to wrap it a couple of times. It doesn't need to be tight, just tight enough to keep the balls out of the way of the Bathmate. Most of the users use something like this to keep the balls away.

I tried tying my testes back with a shoelace as it was all I had to hand. I positioned the end of the string under my thigh to pull the scrotum back into a position where it was away from the device. I still felt pain as there are delicate workings that run near the base of the penis and it was trying to suck them in and it felt very tender. I'm not sure whether tying the scrotum back is enough, I just think I may be incompatible with the device; (it's never the devices fault, only the user!)

I've been pumping for the last 15 years to negative pressures most would fear. I had three healthy kids over the last 6 years so there should be no fear of hurting the essentials beyond repair.

As someone who's considering getting a Bathmate, this is good to hear. Do you pump your balls too, or just the shaft?

This is good to hear for me also, but I still feel as though my 'essential' tubes might be in the wrong place or too close to the surface. It really feels as though I am sucking on a bruise or something. The spermatic cord/epididymis is being sucked into the Bathmate slighty pulling it out of shape and causing it to swell... I really hope I get used to this sensation as I feel the Bathmate may really supplement my workout.

O no! Just my dick. That would be horribly painful I'd imagine to suck your balls. Lots of my surrounding scrotum skin (and I'm sure some tubes and things) get sucked in there near the base too. I would imagine that's normal. I however only have a air pump. A quality one at that! I may try Bathmate someday but I'm going to get the Legnth Master first.

Nerdington- I often experience a similar pain, and here is what I do to combat it:

1.) Stretch balls by hand in all directions before using Bathmate for 2 minutes
2.) I use a vasoline-like lube (this does make it easier for the cord to get sucked in but makes it is easier to adjust to a comfortable position)
3.) I pump and re-adjust many times until I find the comfortable position (sometimes I have to rotate the pump completely sideways to find the right spot)
4.) I pump only in tub and let balls get nice and warm before applying significant pressure (warmer=less pain)

Hope that helps!

The tender point seems to be directly at the base of the penis so it is there regardless of how I position the testicles.
I'm going to send it back and revert to manual exercises which seem to have a much greater effect anyway (the Bathmate did not engorge me even after 5 minutes of enduring the pain).
