It depends on each individual. Vet or newbie there will be a point when fluid will build up. 5 minutes is a good starting point but every individual may be able to go longer, some less. Every brother should test his own limit.

Same here. I can tell how good my EQ is by how my penis feels during a pumping session.
 
Entering the pumping erect is very important for girth gains.

can you do kegals while doing bathmate stretches at the same time?
 
Several Brothers have, I do too at times. Not maybe every session. Reverse Kegels might work even better for length gains. Be careful with the force of the Kegels though, I personally wouldn't do 100% Kegels or Reverse Kegels in the Bathmate until you've tried with lower force before.
In this exercise, as with many else, intensity can be upgraded later on. :)

Yes, do that. I used to kegel while in the bathmate, not in a repetitive contraction as you would do for an actual kegel routine non-stop kegels for say x100 but like you suggest, a kegel every so often, and this would push new fresh blood into the penis, engorge it further.

Its very important to keep as erect as you can when you pump, keeping your penis fully engorged with blood, and allowing the vacuum to expand on that already fully enlarged natural state.

If you can, use the siliring or alternative at the base of your penis, to keep the engorged enlarged state, and as you kegel, you will feel as the penis expands past this constriction point.
