I have used mine for hanging but I was not using but 7.5 pounds. I am not sure that it would hold much more than that. You might could go 10# but that would be the max I would think.

Now if someone could come up with a super flexible and soft silicone sleeve, that may be the gold at the end of the rainbow. If the silicone sleeve was longer and could be cut to the size that was needed that would be ideal. I have found a site that sells silicone sleeves that are suppose to be soft and flexible so I may order them to see if it will work
