Is there any way to raise your Test. levels naturally without taking Test. supplements? My urologist has me on a med. to shrink my prostate which is two and half times the normal size. So I hardly need worry about raising my Test. levels when the doc. wants to lower them. I hope Kcee thinks about this before trying to raise his Test. levels being that he's into his 50's now.

I asked the doc. if the med. would shrink my penis as well. He just stared at me. Not very enlightened about discussing these matters. Oh, how I wish I had my old urologist back!!!

Arimidex plus finasteride should raise test levels while shrinking the prostate. The biggest cause of prostate enlargement is estrogen in the presence of 5-LO enzyme. Arimidex will lower estrogen (very significantly) and finasteride will lower DHT (but not test). Sikdogg pointed out a study that shows finasteride along with arimidex may lower estrogen levels even better than arimidex alone...

If you are experiencing symptoms of low testosterone, then your doctor should be putting you on TRT. Go to All Things Male and download Dr. Crislers paper TRT: A Recipe for Success. Read it and show it to your doctor. If he still won't treat you then you need to find a new doctor.
This must be a popular guide to TRT because I remember reading this about two years ago, before I even belonged to this forum. A very good read, and any middle aged man should read it, regardless of whether or not they are experiencing symptoms of low testosterone.

Actually i think it says that the test-to-estro conversion was blocked by the inhibition of test-to-DHT conversion by using a 5-AR inhibitor... now i'm a little lost. Maybe your theory was right...
No...this isn't MY theory. It actually seems to be pretty well-accepted among steroid circles that the androgenicity of the steroid determines the severity of the side effects and the level of aromatization. The more androgenic the steroid, the more it causes bloating, acne, liver damage, hair loss, virilization, gyno, HPTA down-regulation, and (a positive) strength gains. The more anabolic the steroid, the less you notice the aforementioned side effects and the better the protein sysnthesis abilities. Ironically, HPTA down-regulation is effected very little by testosterone levels themself, but rather by ESTROGEN. Highly androgenic steroids convert readily to estrogen, and therein lies the main reason for HPTA down-regulation caused by androgenic steroids. Another paradox is that in order for an anabolic steroid to have a significant benefit, there must be at least a small level of circulating estrogen in the blood...this explains why testosterones are more effective for mass and strength cycles than DHT (which is usually better as a hardening agent).

Gotcha... i assumed when you mentioned "the most androgenic steroid..." you meant DHT. My bad...
I think DHT is 16 times more androgenic than it is anabolic (1:16), and you are right in saying it is the most androgenic steroid. However, DHT is not able to aromatize, which explains its use as a hardening agent. That confusion was my fault, but look at how much we have discovered because I screwed up and you go throwing out that study on 5a-reductase/AI...lol

Guess the doc. figures a man my age shouldn't be interested in such things. Shit!!! I spend half my waking hours thinking about sex.

This is one thing I experience whenever I'm actively doing PE. I think about sex most time, I think about using my future size for sex. That is one fuel that keeps me focused on my PE journey.

Well, total testosterone will not expedite your gains. It'll just jack you up like a bodybuilder, and it does make you feel hornier. But the free testosterone is what you're aiming for. That's the pool of testosterone that will push your growth rate faster. Those with higher level of free testosterone will achieve secondary and tertiary growth phases. Be envious of those brothers.
