You just keep "masturbating," except when you reach the point of climax, you back off; then when you're cooled off, you go back at it, so you keep increasing the blood flow to your dick. You do this for as long as you can without "popping." You don't want to ejaculate. I try to spend one to two hours edging. It's a great exercise and very rewarding, watching your dick reach its maximum girth and length.
When you're finished with the session, you can reward yourself, of course!!!
But if you can hold off, that's even better. It takes a lot of discipline, but the next edging session will achieve even better results.
You might take a quarter of a viagra before you start if you want. But I don't think it's usually necessary--especially if you have been abstaining from ejaculating.
After you establish a good edging routine, you probably won't have to even worry about ejaculating or not. During my first six months of P.E., my dick was so conditioned that I could have sex, masturbate and work out and my sex drive increased to such a point that I didn't even worry about abstaining. All three activities just kind of got in sync.
P.E., properly done, is truly an amazing process.
