Yes folks...I have started the Atkin's Diet about a week and a half ago. I really want to get my 10" to look 11" and I think dieting is the only other thing I can do to help this along. Thinner guys with 7" look huge to me, I want to be thinner too (as I get thicker of course)

I am doing the Atkin's Diet. I have cut my smoking down to 1/2 pack a day (down from almost 2) I have also started to walk everyday, despite my fear of leaving the house. And finally, I also reduced my sodium intake to also 0.

I have not seen any changes but Jen says I look thinner. The only real change is I want a FUC*ING Carb SO BAD...A CARB COVERED IN SALT!!!! A Cookie, A Pizza, I don't care, I'll eat a hunk of leftover crust at Pizza Hut with a hunk of salt the size of JFK's Head...I NEED A CARB-SALT FIX. I never thought I could miss carbs. and salt this bad. I never thought I would say, I'm sick of meat.

I think something will happen since before this I did NOTHING. I will keep you updated. Here's looking for the 11" Non Bone Press!

Great job DLD!! I wish you all the luck in making yourself smaller, and bigger at the same time! I know from personal experience that the Atkins diet works (my dad was on it and lost 25 lbs). Personally I wouldnt mind eating no meat. I'd eat filet and bacon all day...*drool*.

You would think that but POP I am getting sick of MEAT. I want salt, cigarettes, sugar, and carbs.

LOL. I could imagine DLD, but keep it up. You'll be glad you did (much like Penis Enlargement).

Good job man! Keep it up I know you can! Specially with Jens' support. I'm going to look into this diet as well. I have some love handles that have grown on me as well as a bit of a fat pad over my lower abs. I miss those guys (my abs). I have around 3/4" fat pad in the pubic area...dunno if I'd see much change there.

DLD, After my divorce last year I started to binge eat to try to deal with depression. This crap lasted for months resulting in a huge weight gain. I started the Atkins diet about a month ago and am currently losing about ONE pound a day. After the third day on the diet I did not crave the carbs any more. Have lost about 30 lbs to date. If the cravings don't leave definately try Chromium Picolonate and some Coral Calcium. Both are excellent . The Coral will also help with stopping smoking. Makes the withdrawals almost nothing. Good luck buddy. I'm pulling for ya.

I did this diet back in march, all be it for one month. You shed pounds like crazy and crave a carb so bad it makes you go bananas. The only recipe that made me going was french toast made by crushed pork rinds, those pork rinds had to be the most important snack on that diet to me. After a month I decided I couldn't live like that forever, its a way of life not something you can really go to one day after another. Gained all the weight I lost pretty much back by really not even eating that much it's kinda weird. Anyway I'm doing fine without it, knowing i can eat my cheese nips. :)

Hey DLD !! Congrats, this diet definitely works. I know people that have used it, and they have lost significant weight.

One word of warning, do a good amount of research on it. From what I've heard, the exclusive protein (very low carb) intake can put a strain on the kidneys or liver. Had one friend of mine that was told to get off of it just for this reason. Hope all goes well but protect your health at all costs.

I personally wouldn't touch Atkins diet principles with a 10-foot pole. There are simpler ways to lose weight that doesn't require you to totally drown yourself in meat and other protein sources while keeping you constantly craving carbs. Macronutrient combinations like fat+carbs will store up fat like nobody's business. So, you stay away from them. Instead, you divide your day in two halves and eat protein+carb meals for the first half (up till about 4 PM) and then eat protein+fat meals the rest of the day. You'll get your carb "fix" (but try to stay away from the high-GI carbs as much as possible) so you won't feel deprived all the time. Works like a charm if you add some good, no-nonsense aerobic work (those walks you mentioned). Just plan long-term and your concealed inches will be out and about by winter.

Yes, I am going carb crazy...I want a biscuit and watermelon like nobodies business. I just found out about maltitol which has made things a little better. I am shooting a ton of penis enlargement video next week and I want to lose as much of my gut as possible. The Atkins diet seems to be making my stomach appear smaller. I am confused about a few things and if someone could help me understand them I would appreciate it. I am on a large dose of psych meds. as most of you know. These have made me extremely lethargic, to the point I have NO ENERGY. I also smoked close to 2 packs of cigarettes a day. Now here is the part I am confused about. Since I started this Atkins Diet I have more energy??? I also have cut back on my cigarettes to 1 pack every 3 days??? (not by choice, II just don't crave them???) I am very confused about these things and would love some help understanding them.

Getting back to the reason I quoted ebon00 post. As I stated I am shooting hours of film next week and want to look the best I can for that. After I shoot this film I would be very interested in this diet you have proposed. If you could help me with it that would be great. It sound perfectly doable on a day to day basis.

DLD < This really very simple. When your body burns up the stored carbs it turns to the stored fat to use for energy. You can safely stay on this diet contrary to popular belief until you delete the amount of fat you want to get rid of. I usually have one free day a week when I eat anything I want . the next day I'm back on it again.. First time I tried this stuff I lost 221/2 lbs in ten days. Felt lots better , not carrying all that extra baggage and the extra boost from burning the fat stores for energy. To increase the energy even more please try the Coral Calcium. It gives the body the ability to heal anything that is wrong with it. I witnessed it for a fact a couple of months ago when I got my mom to start taking it. Within 8 days skin cancers literally started falling off of her legs. They dried up and were gone. AWSOME STUFF. She could go all day without getting tired. Previous to the calcium she sat in a chair most of the day.

I forgot to mention that in the infomercials for the Coral they have proven that if you take the Coral you are 10 times more likely to succeed on the Atkins diet.

Is this a pay type diet or is there free info on this on the internet ?i wouldnt mind losing a few pounds..I'm not over weight ..just would like to drop some of the weight i put on in the last couple of years ...about 10 pounds would get me back to my 16-18 yr old weight . Man that would be nice ...lol...maybe even smaller...:D

This could possibly be because you have cut your carbs. If you eat hihg-GI carbs you have a tendency to "overload" your bloodstream with glucose which the body will then desperately try to get rid off (hyperglycemia is deadly which is why diabetics have it kind of tough) and the easiest way to do that is to throw it all into fat cells. That means that you get less glucose for immedeate use for energy. You also get a slight drop in blood glucose since the body tends to err on the side of caution when releasing insulin to take care of the excess glucose. That causes you to "crash" because you have little available glucose for energy.

It is ver doable and fairly simple. I'm on the run all the time and I ahve to bring a lot of meals with me. This diet helps me out with that because I can use protein drinks and pieces of fruit/vegetables for a lot of "meals" in the early part of the day. Then when things slow down towards the late afternoon I can have my protein+fat combinations. I'm 6'4", about 195-205 lbs (depending on creatine intake basically) and lean so it works well enough for me.

ATS this is a free diet. You get a copy of the Atkins diet at almost any store that sells books. Actually I prefer Protein Power over Atkins book. Same diet but this Dr. actually takes the science of why the diet works a step further than Atkins. Still working VERY well for me. Just weighed in this morning- down another 1/2 lb. Loss is ranging from 1/2 to 1 pound every day for me. Will keep you posted.
Also guys you need to get the KETO strips from a drugstore. With them you can actually tell the rate at which the fat is being burned. The more the strip changes color the more you know you are burning fat, not just losing water .

How about keeping us posted on your lean mass. Seriously, unless you're eating perfectly right now and exercising all day long using low-intensity aerobics there's no way in hell you're losing 1/2 a pound of fat each day. Even then it wouldn't be all fat. Your body is probably metabolizing your lean tissue for energy all the time. So that means you're getting weaker and you have less active mass which actually is metabolically active. That's not a good thing. Most doctors, if they are sane, tend to recommend keeping weight loss to about 1 lbs per week. Get out while you still can.

To be perfectly honest with you eb00 I feel FINE. I eat Vegetables unless they are starchy like potatoes and corn and lean meat. And I drink a ton of water. The only thing I have given up is SUGAR AND STARCH. My calorie intake is 120- 1500 calories a day. I haven't felt this good in years. As DLD knows I have been having mini strokes from high blood pressure. My BP had been running 180-210/ 110-160. Yes I said 160 on the bottom. BP has been steady coming down for the last two weeks. As of today it is down to 114/66. My Dr. had recently told me it was not a matter of IF I had a massive stroke anymore, it was a matter of WHEN it happened. I have been on BP meds (sometimes 5 different types at the same time) and it did not keep my BP down. Basically what I am saying is that I"m mostly a vegetarian who eats a little meat. Trust me if I get the least bit worried that something is going wrong I know when to stop. I am exercising daily and thus far my waist is what is shrinking. I am not trying to be offensive, and I appreciate your concern. shyguy

Congrats man, way to go!
I quit smoking cold turkey on May 3, 2002 - been 14 months now & I feel great. I also cut out deep-fried foods & SALT. (trust me, I was a SALT JUNKY).
Don't give up - you can definitely do it. I did, and I'm nothing special.

thanks for the info shyguy ..... now i just got to get to a book store soon ,Glad to see everyone has had a good success with these diets, gives me hope to lose what I want .

Ok, Here is my experience with Adkins / Low carb diet. Its Great I lost 48 lbs 2 years ago and getting back on it now to take off the final 25-30 lbs. But you DON'T have to eat bad stuff. Try staying on the fish chicken salad side of the diet. And an egg substitute for scrambled eggs. I am a buffalo chicken nut with blue cheese. And I have that 2-3 times a week just because I love it. Big salads with bacon bits cheese onions peppers. Tuna steaks / canned, turkey sliced cracked pepper corn heated. I could for on forever. Sweets, I found an easy thing peanut butter, cream cheese & splenda mixed is a great teaspoon dessert.

I have a ton of recipes in word doc format if anyone wants me to post them. And here is a link for more information.

I have never used the keto strips, I couldn't justify the cost. And Wal-Mart carries the EAS Shakes 2 carbs apiece and the Carbsolutions Chips - nacho, barbecue flavors YUMMY!!!

Keep this thread going, maybe it should have its own section?? Hmm

Post here ctmwm, when I get home I will make another section for diet and health. I will slice and dice this thread and add to the new forum.

Congrats on the diet. I can't relate to the problem, but my wife can. I don't do salt at all, if it's cooked into the food thats the only way I get any salt. My wife salts heavily and is constantly on the diet trail. She's tried Atkins and hasn't been successful. As for carbs, I take a carb blocker for those rare times that I have dairy of the fries. Cutting out the salt will work wonders as you've found out. Take carb blockers when you "need" the carb taste.
All of this will go away after 21 days of concerted work; kinda like Penis Enlargement. LOL

I'm 64, 5'6", 160#'s; I work out about 2 days a week.

Like I said I have them in Microsoft Word format. TXT dosent do them justice. The last two I post have like 350 pages each in them. DLD When you get home and catch up on things drop me a PM and I'll send them where ever you want.

I had a old simple favorite for dinner last night. Turkey patties done in a frying pan in a little virgin olive oil and "I cant believe its butter" with capers oh man! Its is way different from the norm and REAL good!! When your cooking it cover it to help steam flavoring & cooking it.

I do some of my shopping at the warehouse stores and I get a huge jar of capers for 3.00 and the turkey patties are the top shelf ones.

And two names to remember "splenda" & "I cant believe its butter" in the tub". Even when I'm not totally LC eating they are great!!!! And HEALTHY too!!! I use splenda in my "decafe"coffee all the time. No after taste like other sugar substitutes.

Have any of you tried taking some of those pills that allow you to get all the carbs U want, but does not allow your body to obtain it, resulting in it being pasted throgh your body and desposed of as waste? www.drleonards.com carries everything from the carb blocker pills, Coral Calcium, to Dr.Atkins Diet System. Give it a look.

Do these work?

If U don't want the pill DLD U can also get the LOW-CARB recipe book that Dr.Leonards carries for $6.00 As far as the pills working, I have never used them. Someone else might ask around.

King The thing about me is I love food. I love all of it and if there is a pill that I can take that lets me continue eating the way I do I am down with it. And listen, I don't eat that bad. My problem is the medication I am on. It strips all energy completely. I have absolutely no desire to even move if I don't have to. Not that I don't want to, I just don't have the energy. I was considering talking to my doctor and having him prescibe a stimulant like Ritalin to try to counter act the lathargic feelings. I don't know if he will. But I think with a good stimulant it will give me the energy to take a walk or something. If there is a pill I can take to block the carbs I would really love my life.

Hey DLD!!! Have you been looking at the Supplement forum? One of your members claims to be losing body fat at a goo rate by taking a supplement called GABA. It has other Penis Enlargement benefical effects too.Checkout the thread!!!

I tried the carb cutter pills, and they works great for making my wallet skinny. As far as weight nada, nothing. Have they worked for any of you other low-carbers?

I wouldnt try the atkins diet, its just not healthy in general. there is a very simple way to lose weight. im a younger kid 16, and when i was 12 i was fat. i weighed like 130 pounds but i was very short maybe 5 feet. But anyway i decided i wanted to lose weight and you have to watch the amount of saturated fat intake and sugar. they are killer! i stopped drinking soda and eating chocolate, started lifting weights seriously for about a year and now im in awsome shape. so just by eliminating those things i guarentee you will drop a few easy pounds. Another good thing is to try to count your calories and have 2000 a day, high protein moderate carbs. Just my advice.

ZAP! Sorry, but NO MINORS!! Not only is it unwise to take advise on healthy/dietary issues from minors but, it is also unwise to give them advise in a sexual manner that has potential to cause them injury. Maybe you can join Cheekycherry.com ....seems to be a bunch of kids there. See ya in a couple years!

The Terminator Strikes Again!

I experiment and read a lot about different diets. I'm always trying to find the best diet for me which gives a lot of energy but also keeps me satisfied. So right now I eat meat meals twice a week, fish meals twice a week, and for the rest I usually eat fruits for breakfast, carbs potatoes or beans with salad for lunch, and for dinner on meat and fish nights I have that with vegetables, usually no carbs at night unless I'm being careless and undisciplined, but I think occasionally it's ok. On other dinner nights I just have fruits or vegetables, and maybe a little carbs.

Also the carb-cycling diet looks very promising. That consists of a day of low to no carbs, then the next day of some carbs along with the protein and back and forth. Chris Powell is a big advocate of this and his show Extreme Weight Loss his clients use this along with exercise and lose a ton of weight.

I gave up on this when I was told that we lose important brain function with a carb free diet.
