Or maybe not, you do seem to take major offense to my posts quite frequently in the forum, which doesn't really bother me as I find it amusing how worked up you sometimes get.

What does that have to do with it? I said I was taking a break and might be back, so I took a break and came back. I don't think it was melodramatic. But whatever. I felt that as a mod I should let people know I won't be here for a while, and I'm sure that's SWM's motivation too. At least a part of it.

You're right, I can't remember a time where you got under my skin, you're always a cool guy. I try to keep a level head in any case because it is only an internet forum. Wouldn't do me much good to let some text ruin my day.

Ok, so maybe I shouldn't have said "we." But still, what good does it do anybody (including you) to be negative about it and get all pissy about "another melodramatic thread?" SWM might be back, in fact I'd almost be willing to put money on it. It's his choice, but right now he's decided to leave. And he felt the need to let us know, because as a mod (read: in a position of leadership), it's only fair to the other board members.

i understand where AncientChina is coming from...honestly i don't really know anyone on this board...and for all i know in the real world i wouldn't take a second look at you...but here we are all striving for the same thing...so we are connected someway...we do have a certain bond....and people like Still...even though i don't know him personally...i believe he brings a lot to this board...with his opinions and his willingness to help others with suggestions and his knowledge...and that is very valuable to someone who is just starting out...or someone that want to try something new...and that will be missed...there is not to many people on this board that regularly post that has extensive knowledge on pe...besides dld & red and a few others...so AncientChina i hear what your saying..there are so many people posting on this forum and i don't even bother reading...but when i see dld, red, still, 9cyclops, and your name on a post i definitley look to see if it is something i need to take interest in.
 
I think skepdick has a valid point, that members whom make these thread usually come back soon.
This isnt a attack, its a observation by the man and proof was posted.
I myself have actually left over a year ago for 2 weeks because of issues I had, it was on these forums also that I left, it was drama a big circus act if you will, not me leaving but I suppose the shiet in the thread I posted here about it.
I agree with what AC says in parts but not so harshly.
Members will have respect for some whom leave such as STILL, they have done so much and I couldnt just think ''oh well fuck it hes gone I never knew him blah blah blah'' thats stupid, I kinda know still, hes part of the team...I wouldnt miss him with regards to emotion but as a leader, good example to mos than YES I WOULD and WILL.

well I wish ya luck in whatever you choose to do. guess if we need your advice you will have to be bombarded with pm's and IM and emails...lol. Rule 2. Don't believe the replies of "sadness" you receive, they are empty. Do you know how easy it is as a mid-ranked user to make a quick post saying "Gezz, sorry to hear this, I wish you all the best in life, we will miss you", it's so easy that people freely do it, besides it boosts one's own image in this fake society. Now of all the people that give you these 2 sentence replies, how many would help you in real life, maybe a quick loan, a stay, will you ever see these people, do they call you by your name or your username? Hey IronCock243 is coming over for dinner....no.

Rule 3. Don't get too involved mentally within a forum. I compare this to people who play those online games for 14 hours a day, you have to be a little off mentally to do so. Rule 5. Once you are gone no one is going to personally contact you unless they need or want something from you. No one cares that you left, don't believe me? Then tell me this master guru or any given forum, how come none of them ever bother to contact you, or check up on you. So you left the place, but you still have an e-mail address, phone number, PM box, or anything else, if your essence was so crucial and so encompassing how have they possibly gone on without you?

I haven't posted here in about 2 months, and at the same time I would never advertise that I wasn't going "be posting as much or at all" to a crowd of "don'tgiveafuckers" in a wrong section of the site, because I know if "AncientChina" isn't around for a month or two it doesn't matter at all, no one would be affected.
