I've had the Bathmate X-40 for about 2 months now. I always found wearing it to be as comfortable as one would expect. I've always been able to get a pretty decent suction going yet air bubbles would slowly seep in reducing suction and forcing continued pumping to increase suction. Bathmate stretches tended to be difficult since air bubbles would slowly find their way in without alot of pressure holding the base of the Herc against the body. I keep myself groomed and even still had this issue when completely shaved. Recently my comfort pad had came loose. Loctite gel worked pretty good for a while but the pad came off again and sadly tore. I could not find my misplaced replacement pad and started to look for alternatives.

I tried the universal pump sleeves and that was just the worst headache. Water everywhere. Difficult to maneuver and no chance to enter the pump without a full blown erection. Suction was terrible as well. I tried other methods I read here by sanding down and cleaning up the mouth entrance of the unit and just use that bare. Again, weak suction and really uncomfortable. I even tried different types of window weather treatments which failed. While awaiting a reply for my email inquiry to order new comfort pads, I had an idea.

So off my hardware shelf I grabbed one of the tubes of GE Silicone II Clear Kitchen and Bath Caulk, and I maneuvered a flat thick layer of this water-tight flexible caulk around the entire mouth of my Bathmate and smoothed it out flat. I then caulked a decent sized bead on top of the first layer and around the circumference of the inner part of the mouth (opening). I let it dry over night and... wah lah! Completely fixed. Not only it it completely fixed, but my Bathmate has NEVER EVER had the quality of suction it does now. There are no air bubbles that seep in at all - ever. Bathmate stretches are accomplished with ease and no trying to hold down the base. I shower with it daily and never have the need to hold or support it. The difference is rather remarkable and the current results from my sessions are way improved from before.

Without question, if my Bathmate breaks or I need to upgrade to the X-40, out of the box the comfort pad is getting ripped off and is being replaced with flexible water-tight caulk. What a difference it made.

Very cool modification! Excellent fix! I also have a tube of that stuff in my basement!

Rvrluck.... thanks a million!!!

My X-40 also had the rear soft pad peel off about 2 months ago & I have emailed the Bathmate company (off the website.. no phone number) twice and mailed them a letter over a month ago asking for a solution or repair. The company has been completely un-responsive, so I am very glad you posted this fix.

Thank you very much I am going to try this today!!!

I used henkel patte(angry)tm), you get that stuff everywhere where I live.

But you really really have to let it sit for 48 hours, I didn't and it gave me a nasty skin irritation. But besides that it will never come off now again, with the silicone it lasted only for a few weeks, this is forever.

There was a fix listed, it is in the customer service forum, you can send in for a replacement pad for free. I think it is a waste though, I never completely understood why the comfort pad is there.

Hmm, Im having similar problems maximizing suction and I just purchased my Bathmate about a month ago. My "comfort pad" is still very much in tact (because I haven't really used it) but I still cant get adequate suction. I made some grooming changes and still have found that suction was less than satisfactory. Honestly I'm not quite sure what I should do. Please Help

Have you tried a little bit of vaseline around the deal? This usually helps. Also, try pumping underwater and see if you see a difference.

When y'all say that the "comfort pad" has come off or been removed, are you talking about the entire black section at the bottom that is used for pumping? If so, how to you pump once this bottom section is gone?

Any chance you or somebody could film a video of how to do this mod? I haven't used my Bathmate in like a year because of the comfort pad starting to come off :(

You need to first get a Universal Pump Sleeves on ebay for I think $5 shipped for 2. Then you will need to get a 5"x5" 1/4" rubber square you get at a hardware store like West Lakes but any store should have it even walmart. Anyway find your erect girth and I'd say add a 1/4" or 1/2" around in a circle so you slide the rubber square like piece over your penis while inserting into girth hole u cut. This way when u pump you will have no pain from the pump around your dick area and no marks or anything. This will always restrict your balls from getting sucked up and only stretch your dick and you will see much much much better gains from doing this. I'm on my way to the 200 mark on my X-40 but can't build the pressure but I know I could do it now without having my balls sucked up haha. I just tried the 5"x5" piece and it works great! no pain around the pump part but my hole was a little too small so make sure it's a little bigger since it might restrict girth gains if the hole isn't big enough. I'd say find the girth u want, cut the hole and your good. One thing I would suggest is getting a Rubber O-Ring the type with a Flat washer like o-ring with the biggest hole u can find. Then cute the hole as big as the one on the 5"x5" rubber and put the smaller rubber o-ring on first which will help keep your balls from getting sucked up, then slide the 5"x5" piece over top the smaller o-ring. I'd suggest u get a manual pump so u can pump by hand and make sure your dick and balls are in really warm water otherwise it won't stretch. Good Luck Brother!

Thanks for a third time:)

Just rip that pad off. That pad is cool in the begining but aftr awhile with it cracking and peeling its like forget it. You will get use to not having the pad after awhile and u will enjoy the loss of the hassles you use to have with having a pad on there. Massage and pull your balls down then move your Bathmate and your penis up. The crease in between my scrotum and thigh always gets me sucking air in or loosing suction.

Automatic protocol for me and my Bathmates, rip off the comfort pad before using:)

What do you mean by decent sized bead?
I know this is a adhesive some what so I want to get it right the first time.

Pics would help too.

Thanks!
