Penis Size/Condoms

Man, I feel like I'm right back in my high school locker room hearing so many guys spouting off about the pain and trouble they have with puny 'regular' sized condoms.

Of course, when I got to college and people were a little more comfotable with themselves, it was cooler to joke about condoms slipping off or being too big. If you started whining about how 'constrticting' they were, you were sure to get pelted with beer cans and howled out of the room. Just waxing nostalgia . . .

For the record, I'm about 5.75 at the base tapering up to a little over 5 just below the head, and about 7.25 long nbp - and I am completely comfortable in a regular condom. If you doubt the stats, search my old user name 'Swank' for the measured pics. I think those stats put me fairly well over average, but a regular condom has always been a totally comfortable fit for me. I know its more about girth, but honestly, I never totally buy into it when I hear all these guys say that it's just so damn hard to use a normal condom. I think I read somewhere on one of the numerous dick size/condom studies out there that condom designers expected the alrge size models to be necessary for about 2% of their customers, but that they take up rougly 15-20% of sales. Hmmm . . .

Frankly, I've had some rather well endowed friends over the years (at least as far as I could tell from the locker room and the occasional drunken antic), and they always kept normal rubbers around as well.

At least some of the supposed erection killing tightness, I believe, is just mental. But then what do I know, my girlfriend has been on birth control since time immemorial.
 
you have a very respectable size my friend, but slightly under 5 inches of midshaft girth isn't enough to cause discomfort. and This isn't mental (for me anyways) nor do I feel cooler or any bigger by the letter printed on the condom box. I used to use normal condoms (lifestyles) and when my girth increased I noticed that it got increasingly more painful to put them on and they would completely ruin that veiny thick erection to a skinnier one with virtually no blood in the glans.

I noticed this change and frankly it pissed me off cause I used to buy a pack of 36 condoms for 12$, now I have to buy 12 for $9. And trust me, the flirtatious smirk the 50 year old cashier gives me when she notices that it's a 'large' condom, does nothing for me.

I wasn't saying don't wear a Condom. I was making the statement of a TRUST issue. Do married couples use condoms or is their some trust in one another.

I totally agree with your statement of HIV being dormant. it really boils down to respect. Not everyone is gonna tell you ... oh by the way I have a STD, do you still wanna do it? Personally I don't sleep around do 1-nighter stands and have asked every woman to have a blood test for me. And I do the same. But it's not 100% guarenteed. I usually wait and learn about the person and their sexual habits before even consider having sex and it's save my ass many times over. I had 3 friends die from AIDS because of tainted SEX HOLES and it's not a pretty sight to watch. And actually one guy's condom broke on him during sex. A few minutes of pleasure is not worth a life time of worry for me.
 
Eh, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers there buddy (although I should have expected somebody would react). Just sharing my perspective, wasn't addressing you personally at all.

I'm not speaking from total inexperience - at around 5.5" midshaft I never felt constriction, even towards the bottom half which is thicker. I've also put a condom on after some fairly intense clamping where I was pumped up to well over six and didn't feel like it was particualrly painful/difficult, it actually felt fine, seemed like I could easily maintain an erection. Just my experience though. We bought a pack of XXL rubbers as a gag gift for a notoriously average endowed guy one time for his birthday - and the look I got wasn't flirtatious, it was more like pity. Glad I don't feel compelled to buy those things regularly.

I think the width of the Magnums is supposed to be around 2.2" unstretched - that seems wide enough to accomodate a pretty large penile width already. The big boy XL ones are over 2.5" width, unstretched. That's pretty freakin' huge for a standard erection. I think a normal condom is about 1.65" wide - meaning it gets stretched about a half inch on an average width dick. That means even the Magnums aren't stretching much at all on most guys as not many can boast a width approaching 3", I think.

The big ones are also around 8" long unrolled. I think the average ones are a little over 7" - and frankly I haven't seen too many guys on this site that could max either of those stats out. Due to the nature of latex, most condoms will stay on your cock even if not at optimal tightness, they make sure of that. Hence the 15% of the market that uses them but doesn't really need 'em . . . not saying that's you or anything, but that's definately a part of their market share. Could be a little off on the size figures, they're from some men's health website, but I think they're pretty close.

Like I said, I just always felt like it was a bit of a piss when all these guys I knew were griping and moaning about how terribly constricting normal condoms were, especially now that I've read that only like 2% of men actually really need a bigger one, and I've had at least one experience where a girl I was in bed with mocked a previous encounter for triumphantly producing his magnum condoms for a penis that really didn't need them. If I ever have to go back down the condom road, I'll be sticking to the regulars, even if I manage to develop a really large girth (6+ at least for an average wood).
 
I figure a lot of the guys who buy Magnum condoms really don't need them. It was funny, during spring break in South Padre I was rooming next to 6 black guys, and funny thing is that the only condoms they all used were Magnums. And I know maybe 1 of them, at the most, was "large", statistically speaking. I guess they felt they had to live up to the "black myth."
 
Ah, Southe Padre. I went to college in the south and that was a regular destination.

I kind of feel bad for black guys in a way - there's a lot of pressure to live up to that myth. I feel like a lot of girls, especially the inexperienced contingent, are looking for something of mythical proportions. Even if you're well endowed, it's going to be hard for most of them to live up to the societal myth.

That being said, I ran track in college, and more than half the team was black. I can definately count my friends from back then as among the contingent that swore up and down that they couldn't fit an average rubber. Being in the locker room with most of them for several years, I know that wasn't the case. Pretty unfortunate. At least as a white guy you aren't expected to fulfill any kind of bullshit porno standard in the sack.
 
ofcourse you can roll a regular condom up your arm,but it will cut of blood circulation.same as the penis.if your thick ,a regular condom will fit but will feel really uncomfortable and after time the condom can break.XL condoms are made to comfort the penis.it has nothing to do with ego boasting.
Why wear something tight if you can find the right size to fit your penis.

ive tried usin a condom before but i just go limp, cause can i cant feel anythin.... so after that i never used condoms before.....ive only been in monogomous relationships my whole life....but i dont want to risk anymore gettin a girl pregnant.

so i was wonderin, does anyone know what the best condom for me to use? so that i can feel sensitivity on my penis when im goin in and out in her? is there any condom out there that you could use and would feel almost like youre not wearin any condom?
 
well ive learned something today,, i too have used magnums xl,, and they are too tight,, di cant keep goin,, like i can when im bare,, ill try the xxl and maybee that will feel better,, im 8 1/8 by 6 1/8 girth,, and yes the tight rubbers do start to make ya go down,,lol,, harv

try the trojan ecstasy condoms. i've tried the ultra thin which are supposed to feel like barely nothing, but they're so damn small it keeps me from getting all the way hard. i don't even have a big dick, just 6.5x5 and those pieces of shit are too tight. they do feel better than regular condoms though
 
all these condoms out there today feel like trash. My base girth is big, bigger then the rest of my dick. The XXL won't slide all the way down. Plus with a little turkey neck I got, it makes shit worse. Shit goes like a little past mid-shaft and thats all. I get a lot of chicks that say, "These condoms are weird".

:) hey man, thanks alot for the reply....i was startin to feel ignored by some people. im goin to try to get these condoms, and try them out next time i go back "in the bush"...ill try to give war a whole new meanin. i really wish i lived back before there were sexual viruses that could kill you...or if there was away to not get a girl pregnant without usin a parachute...but thats sureal i know hahahahh.

That's tight, Im like 7 x 6.25 and I always just wore regular condoms, they were so tight and I'd rip em all the time. It never really occurred to me that there was anything wider. So tight, boost my ego or not, I don't give a shit but wearing Magnum XL's is gonna be siiiick!

Man alive, I swear I have learned more about my dick in the past few days reading these forums than for the past 22 years.
