Yeah thats in part how i use it, i agree. kingme, you can attatch it with less bars so the device is shorter and easier to get on, and then add an extra bar one side at a time after its on, just manipulate it to square up the threads at all times, so they dont get messed up.
Also, @kingme - you can put yourself thru the base with no bars or headpiece attatched at all, let it sit near your base and it hangs off of you - then get your headpiece, with no bars slipped into it at all, and
strap yourself into the headpiece properly, its much easier to do when you arent stretching and there are no rods in it.
then push the bars you want into each side of the headpiece, grab your end with the headpiece and stretch it out with one hand, manipulate the base rods to line up with the rods in the headpiece, and screw it all together. This is how i attach it initially, with 1 less bar on each side then what i stretch at, so it goes on easy. I let it sit like that for a few minutes in a moderately stretched position, so its a bit like a warm up and i adjust to the stretch.
Then i push it and add the bar i want, one side at a time, just like neognostic said, and then wind the base out to adjust tension.
if you get to the point where you are winding out the base too far and can see threads, wind it back in and go up one length in bar, one side at a time.
