The DHL guy called her to work and told her they have a delivery for her, a non electrical pump. greaT!
She came home and was shocked and ashamed..
talking about discreet shipping, it wasn't even double boxed, nothing.
Fucking ruined my plans

I'm also confident it will be sorted and why? because they are a reputable company. From the sounds of it, the courier service are the ones who broke confidentiality by telling your wife what the products was, normally within the EU they are not allowed to say this but only to the person its addressed to and thats only IF they know, so I find it odd he/she knew what was inside the box ... is it possible the box had been tampered with?

looked at that also but that's not it.
On the DHL Express full description of contents it shows : "BATHROOM PUMP NON ELECTRIC"
I was also charged with 25$ taxes which my wife payed for while I was asleep.
On the DHL BOX there's a sticker of Customs Declaration that states again : "Hydropump non electronic"
So you can't miss it.

Let's start by saying that I wrote my own cellhpone number in case a problem appears.
not my wife's. my phone number is nowhere to be found on package.
I should have been informed that customs apply here, and call me if there's a problem.
they should have told the delivery service aka DHL to remind them that eventhough there might apply customs taxes, they should still hold some sort of discreetion.
they should take responsibility for these actions and not the buyer himself like you stated. I should always be informed first, they obviously state that they keep discreetion at the highest level and I didn't see that they said except for Israel.

I didn't let her pick the mail, for some reason it was an express shipment, I didn't know that.

As for the phone numbers? Well, DHL didn't invent your wife's cell phone account did they? It was provided TO them from someone who knew it.
Most likely scenario is that you gave them that number by accident or provided none at al concerning this package and they just used what number they had on record as being attached to your address.

And as far as the packaging and misplaced piece...

Find out what Israeli customs requires when it comes to international shipping.
I'm willing to bet your package was opened and contents verified as being both valid according to invoice and non-explosive.

I'd suggest you contact a customs office, or just research their procedures and requirements.
Either way, you have the product you desired to purchase: what do you expect in way of recompense?

No one is attacking, we are only surprised at this situation. This is something that I have never heard of happening. The thing is, it is what it is and I am so sorry you had to experience. Max, youre being way over protective towards the company and DHL, I always give my cell phone number, the delivery guy must have dialed some kind of information service and asked the phone number by my last name and my wife was on the list 1st.
They try to avoid these kind of scenerios and they advertise it on their site so they don't just ship like you say they do.. and they must pay attention to these things and have better communication between them and the outside company such as DHL.
there's no question about that and I wish to have further business with them but the thing that happened today is extremely bad

Yes but to be fair Mike the customs form can be 'fiddled' very easily and especially with adult stuff they never put down what it is. All they had to do in this instance was list it as a plastic tube or tube for ice cream production but I sense reading between the lines they are very straight laced and wont do this, which is a shame because if this happens many times they loose customers and humiliate people in the process. I know 100% I would be furious if this happened to me, granted I have no women in my life but people I'm at home with can easily check my mail such as parcels when I'm not home to collect.
 
Israeli by t he way is VERY STRICT on all imports and hence why this may have occurred more like it has. The Israelis and no dis to any Israelis here on the forums, but they as a country are very hostile and suspicious to outsiders ... obviously nothing different with customs as they go through everything opening boxes and looking at it all. They used to, dont know if they still do have the most secure airlines in the world so most probably they have the most secure bloody customs :)

I've had stuff sent to me from Israel no problems at all albeit it takes longer then having it sent to me from Singapore and thats quicker for me. I think because of what Israel is in the world currently and the hostile suspicious nature of the country it will always have these problems and unless your willing to have stuff shipped offshore your going to have to put up with it. Offshore locations could be Cyprus or Lebanon but again I dont know how easy they are for you, and/or if Israelis go to them. Cyprus is across the water.

I completely agree and understand but Customs is what it is and for a place like Israel you know they are checking every package that goes through their borders. Customs can be a real bitch when ordering from certain places. I have never sent an order to Israel or any Muslim state since I started. I know our site is blocked in many of these places too. If you are going to order a product from [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MOS[/words] and you are from the list above I suggest you have it shipped to the states and reshipped to you, if shipped as a GIFT they usually will not tamper with packaging.

I'm curious sir on what site you ordered. US, UK, France and Germany get shipped by Amazon. Other countries get shipped in a different way depending on country. DHL is used by us in a very limited capacity and only for countries far away.

A person can't "order through customs" Customs is not a vendor; it's the Government.
It's not discretionary, it's mandatory.
If you want something imported it MUST come through Customs, and they will examine it in accordance with whatever laws your particular country has in place.
