I've been looking online and throughout this site, but I can't seem to find any information on this. From what I've researched, nitric oxide is important for erection quality. L-Arginine increases nitric oxide while Viagra/Cialis/Levitra blocks PDE5, in effect allowing nitric oxide to pass through to the penis. It's my opinion so far that, combining the two should not be a problem. If I'm wrong or missing something, please correct me. Does anyone have experience or an opinion on combining L-Arginine with Viagra/Cialis/ Levitra?

I was told at a health food store that L-arginine and AAKG were both precursors to ED pills, or some shit like that. I would talk to your doctor first, because you may be taking too much if you mix both. Perhaps you can take a lower dose of the ED pill and use the L-arginine to pick up the slack. Hope that helped.

DO you have a link to this study?

I would not mix both personally because the L-Arginine is good for circulation and is why your taking it? for the erections but that may make the viagra/cialis/levitra dangerous or unstable in your blood. Perhaps it can interfere with how it works? As hepcat said its best asking a Doctor and until then do not mix them.

I have been taking Viagra (up to 100 mg) for over 15 years to combat ED. I have been taking l-argenine 1000 mg twice a day for two years. I also often take 7 gr of l-argenine ethyl ester 3 hours before sex. No side effects and not sure the l-argenine makes a big difference. However, those without ED problems may have a different experience.

I forgot to mention, I started take 10 mg of Cialis on a daily basis two months ago.

I was told this by a guy who owns a health food store. They also have someone who works strictly on the supplement section, so I don't think the info is wrong. I also have a friend who has been working out for many years and used loads of different supplements. I told him I got a free 2 month sample of Force Factor. I didn't ask him about what the guy in the health store said. He brought it up on his own.

I still say the best bet is to check with your doctor. You may even be able to do it over the phone or via email. There is a shit-load of contradictory advice over the internet. If you want to believe in something chances are there is going to be info that supports these beliefs (endless scenarios), so you just run in circles and feel like your head is going to explode.

I love to jump into things also, but it really isn't worth damaging your health because you don't want to wait to get the thumbs up from your doctor

cool, cool, I will look it up:)

The maker of Viagra strongly states that it should not be used in combination with any other treatments for erectile dysfunction, including other medications. Because combining these medications has not been studied, you would be using yourself as a guinea pig to discover what risks may exist in taking them together. Personally, I wouldn't consider doing it or recommend it to anyone.

You should never mix these two or any other impotence treatments together as the risk and severity of side effects can both increase and potentially become life threatening. One of these is a patient's blood pressure, which is commonly lowered as a result of taking a medication like Viagra. This lowering of pressure is perfectly safe amongst the majority of patients, but with the addition of another dose of a PDE5 inhibitor this can become extremely dangerous and possibly life threatening. Other reasons why these treatments should not be used in conjunction with each other can include effects on the eyes, such as bluish vision or even blindness as well as paripism which is a condition where an erection lasts longer than 4 hours and needs to be treated immediately or else it can lead to other complications including severe damage to the blood vessels and even gangrene which can warrant surgical amputation.

My advice is to use cialis. Cialis is a good ed med. More people like it better than viagra. Never mix these two or any other impotence treatments together!

Always check with a QUALIFIED medical pro such as a doctor before using such meds and do not self medicate.

"The safety and efficacy of combinations of CIALIS and other
treatments for erectile dysfunction have not been studied. Therefore,
the use of such combinations is not recommended."

Your concern involving the use of Cialis and Viagra has some merit. However, my use of Viagra and l-argenine is not a problem with my Endocrinologist, who I see quarterly for a check-up. Since I added the daily use of Cialas, I have reduced my Viagra dosage to 50 mg and use it less often since I started using Trimix injections, which has been approved to be used in combination with other ED medications. With regard to Trimix, I am under the care of a Urologist.

I appreciate your concern, but I believe that after 15 years of treating my ED, I know what I am doing. Not only that, but being deprived of satisfying sex for 15 years, I am entitled to take some limited risk in order to enjoy satisfying intimate relationships with my wife of over 40 years. And, so is she. Based on life expectancy charts, I only have about 10 years left and I want to enjoy them and personally feel I will be enjoying them well beyond my life expectancy.

Anyway, this thread was intended to discuss the safety of taking Viagra/Cialis with l-argenine. Based on my personal experience, it should not be an undue risk. Further, my endocrinologist is fully aware I am combining the two and has not voiced a concern, though he admits he is not an expert in herbal supplements.

Thats fine but I dont want other readers to ASSUME because your okay using this combo that they would also be good to go with it, which in some cases could lead to a fatal complication. By all means share your wisdom and experience but bare in mind when dealing with all these meds it doesn't interact with people in the same way as it does for say Joe down the road as Jack sat next to me might feel like shit and Tommy across the way could die.

Your in no position and neither am I or anyone else on these boards to recommend a medication that in many nations needs a prescription to obtain it and at the very least in some patients can cause the blood pressure to become unstable.

Although I do use prescriptions to obtain my Viagra and Cialis, I agree with you that you and I are in no way in a position to recommend prescription drugs to others. L-argenine, however, is not a prescription drug and the point I was making was that I combine it with Viagra/Cialis without a problem and my doctor is aware of my combined use and has not issued a caution. In addition, I pointed out in my first post that I use the combination to improve ED and specifically stated that others without ED could have differing results.

Further, in my opinion, based on my personal experience, l-argenine does not have a significant effect on EQ anyway. Also, in my opinion, Eurycoma Longifolia is more effective in improving EQ than l-argenine, at least for individuals suffering from ed. My doctor happens to be aware that I am using this supplement along with a number of the other reputed vasodiolating supplements.

That's fine and I wish you well. I have used AAKG several years ago and that helped with my boners. We have a thread in the fitness section on that actually, may be a sticky but not sure. I was just concerned that maybe the L-Argenine or AAKG if someone took that could interfere with the ED meds as they also work on the circulation. I guess many factors come into play here such as the health of the person, diet and other underlying health concerns.

Just be careful is all I want.

There is no interaction at all between the Viagra, L-arginine, Cialis and Levitra. I think it is safest not to use both Viagra and L-Arginine because it can lower your bp and may cause more than just an additive effect.
