Circumcision became widespread in the United States during the 1800's. In the repressive atmosphere of those olden days, it was touted as a cure for masturbation, which was believed to cause mental illness, laziness and a host of other ailments. In the begining, women as well as men were circumcised. The ugly and unveiled motive behind this procedure was to lessen sexual pleasure. They picked no bones about it at the time, as phobic fear of sex's sinfullness was hysterically high. "Scared that sinful lust will sentence you or your children to hell? Let us cut off the good parts so you or your kids won't have to worry about it anymore."
Over the decades, as our society became less sexually repressed, the true genesis of circumcision was obscured behind a curtain of lies. The simple medical procedure was a money-maker, so the medical industry had to come up with reasons to keep the mill running. Without research or reason, circumcision was hyped to be a prophylactic for everything ranging from UTIs to cervical cancer. It was pushed on uneducated mothers as being cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing for their child to have a skinned penis. As the operation was done on children, the vast majority did not even know what was taken away, or even that anything was missing. The circumcised penis-- lacking prepuce and all the rest of the specialized sexual structures-- was portrayed as the norm, the ideal model. What a perfect scam! We didn't even know what we were missing!
Like I said, circumcision was touted as a cure for masturbation, so let's talk about masturbation.
There's no need to feel embarassed. We all do it. I'll go first. Before I began to restore, I masturbated like this: when I was in the mood, I would get an erection. Because of a lack of shaft skin, my erections were always very tight. There was no give to the skin at all. I would use lube, either skin lotion or just spit, and I would stroke myself, concentrating most of the stimulation on the remnants of my frenar tissue on the bottom side of the shaft, or on the glans, squeezing it tightly as I stroked upwards. For added sensation, I would sometimes pull downwards on the scrotum to stretch the mucosal tissue even tighter.
Here is how I masturbate now...I usually begin slower and take my time a little more than I used to. I get erect a little easier because it feels better overall. I will usually start by squeezing the shaft and rolling and plucking at my growing fauxskin, just kind of massaging it, and squeezing the glans through the skin. I don't use lube anymore because the skin is loose enough to pull completely over the glans now. I vary my stroke, going fast, going slow, always using the skin. If I get super hard, I can feel the ridge of the head "snap" under the skin as it goes across it. Sometimes I will stretch the skin tight on the sides and let the head pop through back and forth. Sometimes I will just pull the skin over the head and massage it around. The best, though, is when I start getting some pre-cum going and it gets under the skin. It feels slick and kind of bubbly and really feels good squishing between the skin and the glans. That's normally when the frenar tissue that I have left seems to start "snapping" up under the skin against the head. It is kind of like a pulling-throbbing pleasure. It's fantastic. When I cum, it is noticeably stronger. The build-up to orgasm lasts longer and kind of makes me see stars, and when it hits, it is much more physical, seeming to pulse through my whole crotch.
The only way I can describe the difference in orgasms is like this:
An regular orgasm for me now feels slightly better than the very best, strongest orgasms I had before I restored.
A really good orgasm for me now is worlds past that. It will actually make me have to stop and collect my thoughts for a second and I will feel shaken and almost high after. I did not feel that way before.
I am not exaggerating. This is not meant to make anyone feel bad. I am mainly interested in hearing from other restorers. I had a very damaging circ and so I am wondering if others notice such a dramatic difference, or if I am just an extreme case.
One other thing of note. I have noticed that I am more likely to masturbate without ejaculating now. Not sure why. I kind of do more edging now than I did before restoring. I guess it is just that the orgasm, like member raffiki said in another thread, is just not as important now that the pleasure is more "full".
