I think most people on here use DMSO 70%. It's made by DMSO inc. It's in the red bottle. It's a little confusing though as it says 99.9% pure DMSO at the top, but at the bottom it says '70% DMSO/30% Distilled Water'.

Ok I know which one you are talking about. I looked at that brand, and though I like the concentration, it just seemed kinda questionable. Perhaps unwarranted on my part.

i beleive that the dmso that is used is 99.9 % pure, then it is mixed with 30 % distilled water, a little confusing but it makes sense.

I thought it was 70% DMSO and 30% distilled water because 100% DMSO is very harsh on the skin

Yeh it is but the DMSO that is mixed with the distilled water has a purity level of 99.9%, that DMSO with 99.9% purity is then mixed with the distilled water to create the 70 % 30 % solution

You can find lab grade DMSO online.


They purchase the DMSO @ a 99.9% purity rate. This is just the % they tout on COA's(Certificate of Analysis) that they get from their vendor or their own lab.
It's then diluted down to 70% w/ either aloe and/or a water mixture. Aloe gels contain a lot of water so most might not have water additives.
Then there are mixtures that ARE 100% with just a 99+% DMSO purity. These you dilute yourselves if you didn't want an aloe or ETC additive.

100%(non-diluted) is very harsh, but it's all going to depend on the person.
There is really no key % to this stuff.
You can do 70%DMSO/30% PABA, but I don't know what the magic is behind the 70% number other than a lot of vendors dilute their DMSO concentrations to 70%.
Maybe it will have more to do w/ the molecular weight of an object, then to determine if it requires a stronger % of a carrier(DMSO).

Not sure if this has been asked yet, but has anyone gotten dmso in the urethra? And does it burn?

No, it does suprisingly not cause that much burn to mucous membrane.
I think the burn on the skin is mostly due to dmso replacing water(in a way) and it goes dry.

there are people using it onto eyes..
