I always start my girth routines with jelq, and I use vaseline as a lubricant. one application and I'm good for the whole session. Now that I have a Bathmate on order, I plan to start with jelq, then go to the Bathmate, then jelq and maybe SSJ's or different compression squeezes. But I'm wondering if the Vaseline will harm the rubber on the Bathmate. I know that vaseline, or any petroleum based lube is not recommended for use with rubber as it gradually degrades the material. But I don't know if this would apply to the Bathmate gaiter which is described on their website this way:

"The gaiter is produced from a high grade, skin safe rubber compound, designed by NASA for the space program"

Can anybody answer this?

I've read DLD saying that it is fine to use vaseline, just make sure you clean it properly after each use.

I myself use Vaseline when I get to the SSJ's and Jelqs in my routine, and have had no problems with using the Bathmate.

Good question and I'd also like to know. Just to satisfy my curiosity. You will want to try using your Bathmate before your girth work as well. I've tried before and after and find I prefer using my Bathmate first. I feel like I get a much better girth workout.

Vaseline is fine but be prepared to clean up your Bathmate with lots of soap and water. The petroleum can clog the valve and will trap dirt and such if left unclean. Best idea is to soak your Bathmate in hot, soapy water after use.

That would be my concern. Increased need for cleaning, and potential for ''gumming up'' the Bathmate. Also, I've heard but don't know for sure, that petroleum based products are BAD for a lot of rubbers. I'd be mainly concerned about the rubber ''stopper'' in the front of the Bathmate. Neoprene though(the base ring).....I don't know. Latex, is a BIG no no with ANY petroleum based lube or product.

HydromaxM, DLD maybe Mr Bathmate himself would be the guy to ask?

Ha ha! Who is going to be the guinea pig with their Bathmate?? ;)

I will. I will put mine in vaseline for a week and see if it causes any issue. I can't fit in the X-40 I have so I will use that.

I suspect the rubber damaging effect of petroleum-based products is a gradual one, not likely noticed in a week. Plus, the amount of exposure from the small amount on my dick might be irrelevant, especially if you wipe off as much as you can before using he Bathmate. I've taken the liberty of contacting Bathmate.ca and asking them about this issue. I'm awaiting their reply.

Personally i do use vaseline in my jelq routine. I do before jelq and after finishing jelqing then i wash my dick and hand with washing soap. Bathing soap doesnt take out dirt & i use washing soap with conjuction with warm water. Then i inserted in Bathmate. Until now no problem. No leak on Bathmate gaiter. Been using 1 months till now.
