anyone know what muscle or nerves surround the base of penis and left and right sides of the base?
i remember erections being controlled and ejaculation being held back by these muscles but i can't seem to hold these and control them as i used to. it's the one that you can flex an erect penis with and sort of pump it with more blood if that helps describe.
this was ever since i had some really bad prostatitis pain. any idea if these muscles can get damaged or nerves can stop working in this area? it never feels really good. the only areas i get sexually stimulated are deep in the prostate area but genitalia doesn't really spring to action?
 
I believe you are referring to the pelvic floor muscles. These muscles need to be exercised to ensure the penis maintains good erection strength. Practicing kegels is the best plan of action. Its hard to concentrate on. Just look at the pictures and visualize how it constricts. the constrict move is kind of upwards towards the pubis.
I would say that isolating the pelvic muscles is agood exercises. Doing only one form of kegels might destablize the other muscles.
It doesnt work from the start sometimes. I can "kegel" in many parts of my pelvic floor. Jsut watch anatomical pictures and push and constrict at different parts and check how your dick reacts.
 
i think you're right on those muscles. that's pretty much where i feel the issues.
they actually feel more sore and tender than anything. i'll be giving them some massages and heat to see if that helps before i do any exercises but thanks a lot.
 
The thing is, when you kegel, all pelvic floor muscles contract. For me, anyway, it is impossible to isolate any of the individual groups. If I squeeze at my penis it radiates all the way back to my ass, while when I flex from that perspective they all contract the same. I think this is why men become confused with Kegels, they expect them to only effect the muscles below the base of the penis and when everything flexes they believe they are doing it wrong. The best explanation of a kegel would be when you are fully erect and you are able to bounce it without touching it, this is the full contraction. Similarly, when doing a reverse kegel all pelvic floor muscles are released, again, making impossible to isolate any of them. In my opinion is is all about keeping it simple, train kegels everyday whenever you can, driving, watching tv, sitting at your desk, etc. The PC muscles are all about endurance and the more you can do the more endurance these muscles can handle. If Penis Enlargement is weight lifting then PC work is cardio.

if i abstain from sexual activity due to previous prostatitis pain am i allowing my pelvic floor muscles to weaken?
kegels don't exhaust or strain the muscles further?

Kegels are simply a way to train the pelvic floor muscles. This large group of muscles can only be strengthened through Kegels exercises. I consider Kegels to be a [words=http://fleshlight.sjv.io/c/348327/302851/4702]stamina[/words] exercise and the goal is to strengthen these muscles for endurance rather than size. They will help you hold firmer erections, better ejaculations, continence and bladder function, in addition to many other reasons. It is advised to train daily.
