Yes! Happened to me quite a few times as well. Last time I got drunk with tequilla (for some reason I decided to down 0.25-0.3 liters ot tequilla ex) I did the same thing- plus, I don't have to mention that ever since then- I get NOWHERE near tequilla! rofl!

Tequilla is a nasty drink, never wanted to drink it, only beer, but I reduced it to one beer per two weeks ration rofl
 
Vodka and Tequila are tame compared to Absinth. Zam, you guys in Bul have that Mastika which contains Thujon, the essential ingredient of Absinth. On my last birthday party a friend who works and lives in Sofia most time of the year brought a bottle of it and boy was I wicked drunk within shortest time possible (and I can take a lot, believe me)! I went from almost sober at 10 pm to blackout drunk at 11:30 pm (was still standing and fighting til next morning, of course, but I can't remember anything. Always embarrassing to find what kind o shit you've done via other people)! There's also this specific Absinth spin that comes along with it, similar to being drunk but not quite the same;)

Hahha! Yes, it is wicked, especially if you're not used to drinking it. It is VERY similar to italian Sambooca. Here we have RAKIA as well- this shit is CRAZY!!! Try drinking 10 sips of it and you'll be lying down dead! rofl! Have you ever been in Bulgiaria? :) Where are you from, somewhere near? :)

I tried many different Rakias, mostly homemade:O The quality varies hugely and some of my bulgarian acquaintances told me once that you always have to know who distilled the stuff, so you know who to blame afterwards, lol.Some taste like shit, others are really fine and imo way better than any Sambuca I've drunk so far. But still, neither Rakia nor Sambuca are as hellish a drink as Mastika (though, I've tried Absinth before but it never gets old).

And yes, been twice in Sofia and met a lot of nice people to party with. The background of the story is that two of my best friends built an internet start-up there. They also have a firm address here (for representative reasons, you know) in Frankfurt, Germany and one of them travels often back and forth between both locations. Probably I'll get to Bul next year for a visit again, still have to visit the beach. btw: where is Haskovo?

oh, to add this: I had a black vodka form Russia once, too. Stuff had "only" around 40% vol. but an Armenian friend of ours (drank that with the guy who works in Bulgaria) told us to be very careful..which of course we weren'trofl But that stuff had something to it, almost like Absinth. Really tore us apart, rofl

Haha! It really depends to be honest, but if you drink mastika with ice- it gets crystalic inside and it becomes REALLY good to drink!

And yes- most bulgarians are big drinkers rofl! :)

haha, yea, I know. You guys drink a lot. been there, done that.;) Same holds true for many germans, at least for those I know, though the drinking culture differs somehow. Mastika with ice runs smoothly, but the consequences stay the same.rofl
I'll check back the next time I'll travel down.

btw: you know "Strohrum"? Kind of rum that has around 80% vol. Crazy shit but if you aren't into dark rum (which I'm not) it tastes like shit.

I have found myself in the same place when I used to drink hard liquor, it was one of the only things I could not control in my life and there was never enough. I was drinking a gallon of Popov everyday at one point. It completely destroyed my life.
