I pump at a very high suction, 17 Hg to 20, but only for t most 60 seconds, the I take the pump off and do some manual or clamped girth work for a few min, then back in the pump.
I don't get very much fluid build up, and definitely get real expansion, to bad my pump broke quickly.
I think that the people who never seen any gains from pumping that are permanent are people who just pump regularly. To actually make cemented gains you need to do manuals.

Since I've switched to low low pressures for long periods on time, 30 minutes straight, my fluid retention is less than 5%. Amazing erecting quality and morning wood. I don't know how this could be done with water pumping since there is no gauge to monitor the pressure. I think once the water pumps are compressed the pressure is well over 6-7 hgs.
