I switch between both.

I can feel more expansion when I do it upwards, not too sure why.
 
Interesting, I jelq in the same direction my erection points, which is forward and slightly up, not to sure if that's considered up or down, I will try to alternate though.
 
I mainly jelq up but if I am looking for a good ligament stretch, while jelqing, I jelq down while fully erect.

I find it uncomfortable to jelq down, while up is just more natural... do others feel this way?
 
Yes jelqing up = girth, but makes it a bit smaller, but you will have rock hard erections.

STRAIGHT AHEAD = Length, and girth, but less girth than up, BUT I like this way best after MUCH trial and error over yearsss and years, since I was like 13 or so I've been jelqing on and off, however I do sometimes jelq slightly up a tiny bit, there are it's benefits to jelqing up, like stronger erection and girth.

Downward, as far as I've heard, and also experienced, decreases blood flow and serves me no purpose for length for girth because it makes my erection noticably weaker.

This is the reason why I think downward jelqing is a good for ligament stretching and length.
 
I jelq up and down. but, i no longer jelq have not done that in about a month been squeezing my semi flaccid cock.

It is not bad, it just works the ligs more than an upward jelq. Jelqing downward, while erect, will stretch the ligaments past normal erection angle. Jelqing upward mainly produces girth gains.
