Looked for a thread on this but couldn't find one. Does anyone have an opinion on which of the two is better?

Currently, I've been standing while hanging straight down. However, my sets are getting longer--into the 1 to 1.5 hour range, and it's starting to take a toll on my feet and back (which isnt in great shape due to years of contact sports).

However, I notice when I sit and hang straight-down, it is a completely different sensation. The hang seems to be more focused on the outer shaft, while standing feels like it pulls on my inner penis as well. Not saying one is better than the other, but I don't want to lose the potential of gains because of laziness.

Suggestions/comments/experience appreciated.
 
As long as when you are sitting all the weight is taken up by the penis it is fine. Either way you will be effecting growth, you could switch between the two. I personally sat when I hung and would walk around for a break every now and again.
 
Thank you. Quick question though, haven't you said you didn't gain much from hanging? Do you think that influenced it at all?

Hard to say, I did not gain anything when I was hanging but when I returned to other stretching methods I started to gain again. This is the reason I included Hanging as part of the LengthMaster Program, I think it has merit in pre-gain stimulation. Also, others have gained by hanging so it made sense to include for that reason too. In my opinion hanging is something that should be used for a short time to prepare for other methods, a plateau breaker if you will.
 
I stand. I stack up some stuff on my table to put my laptop on and work on it while hanging down.
 
I am lazy so I always opt to sit or lay down:)
 
i have been laying down to as i hang more lol. that much standing with your cock strapped in sucks lol...
 
There are many, many different ways to hang and each position you put your body in is going to effect the stretch on your ligs. Once I'm back in hanging shape I may write a thread about all the hanging positions because there are a lot.

I treat hanging like any weight lifting movement. In that sense, it has a sort of criss/cross effect or sling shot effect on your body in its load. What I mean is, while you hang straight down you're causing a stretch in your ligs on the anterior side of your body. This is directly at your center of gravity. If you're experiencing back pain from the hanging I believe two things are happening:

1) you're hanging too much weight and buckling with your mid back, causing your mid lumbar to become exhausted by holding you in a slightly slouched position
2) you have a muscular imbalance that causes your pelvis to tilt

If you played lots of contact sports I'm assuming you played football. Then it's highly likely you have over developed quads and an under developed posterior chain. Are your hip flexors tight? Is your abdomen tight? Or is your lumbar tight? What about your hamstrings?

The next time you hang in a standing position, try doing the bow if your back gives you trouble and see how that feels:

How is hanging going? have you been mixing up standing and sitting? how about laying flat so you hang straight out? I don't have any back or feet issues but standing in one position with your cock strapped in can make anyones feet and back ache a bit just as it did mine when I only hung standing at first.

The nice thing about standing while hanging is you can swing the weight a bit making the stretch more intense.

ya absolutely...and it adds fun because swing of any kind is fun ;) i always decrease the weight before swing though for safety. swinging heavy just felt risky.

It is almost like a weighted rotary stretch.
