There are many sources of the first translation to English. With a decent education in Latin, Greek or Hebrew you can get even closer to the original text. I agree that many sources have way over translated and added to the Bible but with every book I read, I always look for the first edition, unabridged. The biggest problem with translation comes from certain terms that can't be expressed in English.

Tell you an incident. Married in December 1999. No babies till date. Done all treatment with doctors. Although I am Roman Catholic I still find much knowledge and wisdom in Buddhism. I met a man who told me he was searching for God his whole life and when he found Buddhism he said Buddha showed him Christ Jesus, this inspired me so much to view all religions with great reverence.
