Twine or anything else that you could secure to the bell would work. The one thing you do have to do is keep it away from the pump as it has to stay attached during the hanging session

Does make me wonder what the point of "hanging" 5 pounds would be when you can easily exceed that with the Phallogenics AND with the added benefit of adjusting the angle of the SG or X4 up or down as apposed to straight down by hanging.
 
The 5 pounds is just a starting weight. I actually started with 2.5# and realized pretty quickly that I could use more weight. My plan is to move up after I can do 2 20 minute sets. I am taking it slow to start with as I have not been hanging for very long. Eventually I would like to get up to 20# or more which would be considerably more than the PF or SG

I would be really surprised if you could hang 20 lbs with the PF. The vacuum just isn't strong enough.

I agree, I doubt the PF would allow one to hang that kind of weight. I would use my LM for weight getting over about 7.5#

Damn I wish I could use my LM. Just can't get past pinching skin, no matter how I wrap, and it's bloody painful. Too painful! Also, a couple of times after hooking up the LM, I couldn't get it apart. It was just stuck. I had to run around trying to find a screwdriver to pry it apart LOL. Glad I could do it as I didn't want to call 911. I have a "hanger" and am having some success with that. Hung 15 lbs with it yesterday for about 12 minutes. It was still pinching, but manageable and nowhere near as bad as the LM. Again, nothing wrong with the LM, as it's working fine for a lot of people. But I'm betting they are all uncut, with perhaps a few exceptions. Gotta go with what works.

I remember reading about your fight with the LM and I can understand not being able to use it if it is causing pain. I still have my moments with mine but so far I have been able to use it. You are right that you need to use what works for you and if the hanger is working, I would continue to use it.

It would be awesome if we all had predictable conclusions to what we need to use to make things happen but that is not the case. Some men need more than others and some men need less. It is an odd things as a penis is a penis is a penis, so there should be little differences. I have always put my trust in the reason that not enough intensity is used or poor form. Very hard to figure out.

Furthermore, individually we can also vary...I've found in the last year that I respond better when I have a couple of rest days each week. This may change, so be aware of any 'resistance' your body is giving you and adjust accordingly

Yup, that is also true. In fact there are many men who have gone very minimal and have done very well. I also think that the mental piece is as important as the physical. If we truly want to make monumental gains we need to have monumental belief.
