Also the idea that you have to have breakfast to 'start your metabolism' is thoroughly outdated. As well as the idea that you have to have a light dinner because you do not burn anything in the evening. Calorie partitioning is a little more complex than this. More recent research has indicated that having a large carb meal in the evening (instead of morning) is actually way more beneficial for most people in terms of calorie partitioning and hunger/cravings. Bro science (like the above) is often very simple. Which does not make it right.
Calories in > calories out is very simple. But the reality of 'why people cannot stick to diets' or why they regain fat is a little more difficult.
